John Acton |
Liberty is the condition of duty, the guardian of conscience. It grows as conscience grows. The domains of both grow together. Liberty is safety from all hindrances, even sin. So that Liberty ends by being Free Will. |
Saint Augustine |
Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul. |
Anton du Beke |
My goal is to be the best TV presenter, the best entertainer, the best singer. I still want to be the best dancer. I want to be the best at everything I do. |
Samuel Daniel |
Love is a sickness full of woes, All remedies refusing; A plant that with most cutting grows, Most barren with best using. |
Antoine de Saint-Exupery |
Night, the beloved. Night, when words fade and things come alive. When the destructive analysis of day is done, and all that is truly important becomes whole and sound again. When man reassembles his fragmentary self and grows with the calm of a tree. |
Audrey Hepburn |
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years. |
Bruce Lee |
Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable. |
Chris Abani |
That women are mysterious and unknowable is something every young man grows up believing. Men, on the other hand, never think of themselves as mysterious or confusing, and we are often at a loss as to why women want to figure us out. |
Diane Ackerman |
I like knowing that the further back one traces any lineage, the narrower the path grows, to the haunt of just a few shaggy ancestors, with luck on their side, little gizmos in their cells and a future storied with impulses and choices that will ultimately define them. |
Edmund Burke |
Slavery is a weed that grows on every soil. |

I think I am worth 10 burly men. 5 with beards. One fights with an axe, another fights with double swords (he doesn't have a beard obviously). There is also one who is kinda like Bear Grylls (with a beard). The end!

As mankind grows and triumphs we create our own star. Shinning city lights out into the galaxy. The brighter our star shines the dimmer the rest of the universe appears to us. Approximately 300 billion stars in the galaxy and 12 billion light bulbs on earth. #peopleareweirdorcoolorsomething

"Writing, at its best, is a lonely life. Organizations for writers palliate the writer's loneliness but I doubt if they improve his writing. He grows in public stature as he sheds his loneliness and often his work deteriorates. For he does his work alone and if he is a good enough writer he must face eternity, or the lack of it, each day." - Hemingway's Nobel Prize Speech

Make your interests gradually wider and more impersonal, until bit by bit the walls of the ego recede, and your life becomes increasingly merged in the universal life. An individual human existence should be like a river — small at first, narrowly contained within its banks, and rushing passionately past rocks and over waterfalls. Gradually the river grows wider, the banks recede, the waters flow more quietly, and in the end, without any visible break, they become merged in the sea, and painlessly lose their individual being.

Lets sum up my last two vivid dreams. Dream 1 we were at a restaurant and I went to the car and was in the back seat and these guys came in the car and were robbing it and I was like heyy Im still here, then they chased me back to the restaurant and I couldn't yell or run barely. Some point after that I went to this really weird town and was like pretending to be this kids dad or something and it was sad and I was on the run. Then the core 4 were all on an island and we were trying to escape and eventually I found a boat, then charlie and ben were there suddenly but we left the girls on the island so I borrowed a boat from the police and then they magically appeared off the island. So that was weird. The other dream from just last night was that I was going to like, vegas but it was really Hawaii and I met some girl from Utah that I seemed to have known, but then partied in Hawaii on this island that actually kind of reminds me of this desert in another dream I had, anyway I also foun...

Stephen Hawking Warns That AI and 'Superhumans' Could Wipe Humanity; Says There's No God in Posthumous Book
Stephen Hawking says artificial intelligence will eventually become so advanced it will "outperform humans." The renowned physicist who died in March warns of both rises in advanced artificial intelligence and genetically-enhanced "superhumans" in a book published Tuesday. Hawking also weighed in on god, and aliens. From a report: According to an excerpt of the book "Brief Answers to the Big Questions" published by the U.K.'s Sunday Times, Hawking wrote AI could prove "huge" to humanity so long as restrictions are in place to control how quickly it grows. "While primitive forms of a...

Lying in bed would be an altogether perfect and supreme experience if only one had a coloured pencil long enough to draw on the ceiling. This, however, is not generally a part of the domestic apparatus on the premises. I think myself that the thing might be managed with several pails of Aspinall and a broom. Only if one worked in a really sweeping and masterly way, and laid on the colour in great washes, it might drip down again on one?s face in floods of rich and mingled colour like some strange fairy rain; and that would have its disadvantages. I am afraid it would be necessary to stick to black and white in this form of artistic composition. To that purpose, indeed, the white ceiling would be of the greatest possible use; in fact, it is the only use I think of a white ceiling being put to.

An AI box, sometimes called an oracle AI, is a hypothetical isolated computer hardware system where a possibly dangerous artificial intelligence, or AI, is kept constrained in a "virtual prison" and not allowed to manipulate events in the external world. Such a box would be restricted to minimalist communication channels. Unfortunately, even if the box is well-designed, a sufficiently intelligent AI may nevertheless be able to persuade or trick its human keepers into releasing it, or otherwise be able to "hack" its way out of the box.

Twelve Virtues of Rationality
The first virtue is curiosity. A burning itch to know is higher than a solemn vow to pursue truth. To feel the burning itch of curiosity requires both that you be ignorant, and that you desire to relinquish your ignorance. If in your heart you believe you already know, or if in your heart you do not wish to know, then your questioning will be purposeless and your skills without direction. Curiosity seeks to annihilate itself; there is no curiosity that does not want an answer. The glory of glorious mystery is to be solved, after which it ceases to be mystery. Be wary of those who speak of being open-minded and modestly confess their ignorance. There is a time to confess your ignorance and a time to relinquish your ignorance. ...
