Please, all you MCs out there, all you fans out there, don't think Big gonna make a record dissing 2Pac or the West Coast because it's not going down like that. I cant even see me wasting my time or my talent to disrespect another black man. |
Mark Hamill |
In high school, I had to hide my comic book side, my nerd side from the civilian world so they wouldn't categorize me. They would try to marginalize me for what I like. I tried to give it up, believe me. I tried to kick the habit. But there's too much I liked about it to give it up completely. |

You're a smaller fish in the U.S. There's just so many more TV shows, and actors, and actresses. Where as in the U.K. you're in a much smaller market there. |
Irving Babbitt |
According to the new ethics, virtue is not restrictive but expansive, a sentiment and even an intoxication. |
Michelle Obama |
We can make a commitment to promote vegetables and fruits and whole grains on every part of every menu. We can make portion sizes smaller and emphasize quality over quantity. And we can help create a culture - imagine this - where our kids ask for healthy options instead of resisting them. |
Stephen Hawking |
If the rate of expansion one second after the Big Bang had been smaller by even one part in a hundred thousand million million, it would have recollapsed before it reached its present size. On the other hand, if it had been greater by a part in a million, the universe would have expanded too rapidly for stars and planets to form. |

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and... I believe in miracles. |
Audrey Hepburn |
I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles. |

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is marketing. You've got a bunch of faceless people in a back room who trademark a name that sounds very official. Well, if you had thought of it first, you would have been the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. |
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie |
The best novels are those that are important without being like medicine; they have something to say, are expansive and intelligent but never forget to be entertaining and to have character and emotion at their centre. |

...who are you to say what is right? I like the beyond good and evil quote and I agree. Real in one sense is what is tangible, but the imagination is also real although it is not tangible. The visions you have in your head are real, but they are not happening in this dimension at least. Time is a way to experience sensuality and willpower imo.

Not sure what creators are currently working on, but this site and its premise would benefit immensely from a visual component and a search engine. Tagging posts, physically dragging ideas, being able to view, categorize, evaluate, attach visual thought webs into a network would be very revealing and accelerate the real and meaningful connections a thought web can foster.

She who is centered in the Tao can go where she wishes, without danger. She perceives the universal harmony, even amid great pain, because she has found peace in her heart.
Music or the smell of good cooking may make people stop and enjoy. ...

Seeing all these new captchas - click on all the DOGS. It doesn't seem at all unreasonable to make a bot that recognizes those, googles dogs to build a training set, learns to recognize dogs, and then passes the captcha, right? I can't imagine that would take more than like 2-3 hours and then it could recognize dogs forever.

Make your interests gradually wider and more impersonal, until bit by bit the walls of the ego recede, and your life becomes increasingly merged in the universal life. An individual human existence should be like a river — small at first, narrowly contained within its banks, and rushing passionately past rocks and over waterfalls. Gradually the river grows wider, the banks recede, the waters flow more quietly, and in the end, without any visible break, they become merged in the sea, and painlessly lose their individual being.

Bizarre futurism thought: Imagine a future where tech education is a mandatory component of schooling for all ages. Now, combine that with some kind of companion robot that kids receive when they are young and custom upgrade as they learn how throughout their life. Does the robot's development become an external symbol of the child's internal development? Would people have robot envy? Would rich assholes hire people to mod their robots in ways they don't understand (definitely)? STRANGE!

want: to be able to write
I jam my journal in my bag and stomped out to the diag. Every time I'm in that library, I find myself wrestling with a stupid paragraph and it is always about my literal surroundings. I've written...10 stories about flicking on the desk lamp, peering at the textbooks of the faceless people, and imagining what it's like to be studying their physics textbook...in the library...under the desk lamp. Oh ya, and there's books! But I'm off to the coffee shop I usually avoid because of familiar faces I have no interest in, but maybe I can find something remarkable about today.
