Sylvia Earle |
On a sea floor that looks like a sandy mud bottom, that at first glance might appear to be sand and mud, when you look closely and sit there as I do for a while and just wait, all sorts of creatures show themselves, with little heads popping out of the sand. It is a metropolis. |
Gaby Hoffmann |
I don't watch a lot of T.V. I only watch things via Netflix, so I only watch the things that I'm choosing to watch. |
Courtney Gains |
Honestly, I had a kid, so you watch the movies your kids want to watch. I'm also a producer, so when I watch movies, I look at them from the genre they are, the budget they had, and the time they had to produce it. That's how I evaluate their success. |
Peter Facinelli |
Everyone has a different path. I knew no one in the acting industry growing up. I never did a play until college. I was not outspoken when I was younger and I hated being the center of attention. But I had a dream of being an actor. I went to NYU and studied theatre. I learned a craft. And began my career straight out of college. |
Allen Iverson |
Man, people have been waiting for me to fall off my whole career. From the first time I stepped on the court. It probably made people sick to their stomachs watching my whole career, watching the things that I've done in my career. |
Ali Farahnakian |
Work on your craft, and your career will come. Work on your community, and your career will come. But just work on your career, and you'll have neither a craft nor a community. |
Stacey Farber |
When I was 18, I was moving to New York to start college at The New School. I had done a year of college in Toronto and wasn't happy there. I didn't have any friends in New York City, but I applied and got in. It was pretty overwhelming, but everyone in New York is so ambitious and creative. |
Dakota Fanning |
I have a weird vision of relationships because my parents have known each other since second grade, and they got married right out of college. |
Dale Carnegie |
Today is life-the only life you are sure of. Make the most of today. Get interested in something. Shake yourself awake. Develop a hobby. Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Live today with gusto. |
Henry Ward Beecher |
No matter what looms ahead, if you can eat today, enjoy today, mix good cheer with friends today enjoy it and bless God for it. |

What popular TV show or movie do you refuse to watch? Game of Thrones. Idk, I mean I *have* refused to watch it but if you wanted to watch it i'd be like "ok we can give it a shot"

Malware Developer Who Used Spam Botnet To Pay For College Gets No Prison Time (bleepingcomputer.com)
An anonymous reader writes: The operator of a 77,000-strong spam botnet was sentenced to two years probation and no prison time after admitting his crime and completely reforming his life. The former botnet operator is now working for a cybersecurity company, and admitted his actions as soon as the FBI knocked on his door back in 2013. The botnet operator, a 29-year-old from Santa Clara, California, says he was tricked by fellow co-schemers who told him they were not doing anything wrong by infecting computers with malware because they were not accessing private information such as banking...

There are a lot of things that would work instead. Depends on what you need. Depends on how you learn. Do you need college to learn? That's a different question than "do you need college". Different Universities have different atmospheres. I knew I could learn anything I wanted reading textbooks and recently published papers, but when you live somewhere where no one cares it's kind of depressing. That was one of the motivating factors for why I chose to go to graduate school.

I've also heard that everyone in your dreams is yourself. Maybe I've stopped thinking creatively/out-of-the-box in grad school in the interest of safe career advancement. Recently I seem to be breaking out of that, even though Prabal doesn't seem 100% on-board at the moment - maybe that brought it up.

I had a dream that it was all dark and I woke up and turned off my watch. Then I actually woke up and my watch was still on and it wasn't dark.

"I cheated the school system to submit homework later in college.
I am a huge procrastinator and I would always forget to do huge assignments in college. Normally I would do these assignments the night before or the day of, however I would often not have time to finish the project before the deadline.
I remember learning to code in my High School web development class, so I created a script that generated a "File Corrupt" error. I would submit that through the school portal and then when the...

I had a small screwdriver in my backpack for probably 12 years. I use it to fix computers and harddrives. I've flown with it that whole time, probably 100 flights. Today at the Frankfurt airport they said they have to take it. It's not expensive or anything but it's so fucking stupid. It's theft.
