I don't remember what my dream was two nights ago but I know it was super spooky. There was some weird condition where someone had to kill someone else or something. Dreams always have the funkiest things like that. I think my dreams would make good horror movies if I could remember them.

A very memorable dream/nightmare from my *very* early childhood, like 2 or 3 years old.
Background: In real life, I had a little teddy bear that had a sound or vibration box inside it, meant to be evocative of the mother's heartbeat while in the womb, it's supposed to be cozy or comforting. It turned on with a little knob that you twist, which you access in the back behind a velcro flap. Anyway, I did like that bear, and I liked snuggling it.

I keep having weird dreams and thinking I'll remember them but then when I get out of bed I can't remember. I used to try to say them out loud because I think it helps you commit it to memory but I never feel like doing it and for some reason think I'll remember them anyway.

Movie idea: find a bunch of random video clips and ask several people to put them in the "correct" order. Then find the order they agree most on and play them in order to make a trippy movie and do some small touches up to make it flow a little better. Then you can remove more frames from each successive scene to make it look like time is moving faster.

i had a dream within a dream within a dream last night
in the deepest dream, which is the hardest to remember, I know there was something scary. I don't remember what exactly was scary, but I do remember it involved being in a spooky-looking basement, one of those that feels cold, drippy, moist like a cave, spider webs all over. I think this basement was pretty empty. I remember being in a stairway that led down to it, looking down into its depths, the golden light behind me fading darker with each step.

Certainly the Matrix movies represent one of the most successful recent attempts to bring philosophical ideas to the general public, although many will confess to be ignorant of the central thesis of the movies and are therefore also dissatisfied with them. This is understandable, since the Wachowski Brothers may not be attempting to convey a definitive thesis, but also because one needs an extensive philosophical background to grasp the ideas and debates that are conveyed in the movies. Within the three movies there occurs a variety of social and philosophical commentary, and this commentary is obscured simply by the fact that the mode of presentation is highly symbolic. Probably has to do with how you think about numbers. It's not easy for everyone to remember phone numbers. Phone numbers are grouped into parts. You have an area code, then three digits, then four digits. You might have an association in your head for area codes. I know when I think of a friend I think of where they grew up and then I remember the area code, then I just have to remember 7 digits. From what I read about memory techniques, it's easier to remember if you have an image or association. You could do something like, assign a person, place, and action to each digit. Then in three digit groupings, if you have a number like 517, you could say 5 is the person 'Santa', 1 is the location 'the zoo' and 7 is 'eating a cake' and then you'd remember that image and be able to get the number back from your mapping.
