The strongest results were in Florida and Texas. In just one year in a Texas charter school, an average student gained 7 percentile points in math and 8 percentile points in reading, while Florida charter schools improved student performance by 6 percentile points. |

When I was a kid, I would do stupid things on my bike. I'd jump any ramp, I'd jump over people, I'd jump over things - always crashing, never hurting myself badly but always wanting to take physical risks. |

I have great artistry, I can spin well, I have good footwork, and I can jump. I can do the quad jump, and I've done it multiple times in competition. It's definitely a jump that I have in my arsenal. I like to think of myself as the complete skater. |

It has been said that time heals all wounds. I don't agree. The wounds remain. Time - the mind, protecting its sanity - covers them with some scar tissue and the pain lessens, but it is never gone. |

If I am walking with two other men, each of them will serve as my teacher. I will pick out the good points of the one and imitate them, and the bad points of the other and correct them in myself. |

In Quebec, we're less inhibited artistically, culturally, politically. We're less focused on box office and comparing our films to the American films. |

Living as an actor is rather like living life on the trapezes in a circus. Every time you jump on, you have to pray that, when the time comes for you to jump off, there is another trapeze swinging your way. |

But there was something psychological happening there that was just a little bit different. And the other thing was, there was no stigma. Kids weren't going into the 'Center-for-Kids-That-Need-More-Help' or something like that. It was 826 Valencia. |

I wanted to be the next Dana Carvey. This was my ultimate goal. If I ever cut into a birthday cake and made a wish, I would wish to be on 'Saturday Night Live.' If I threw a coin into a fountain, I would wish to be on 'Saturday Night Live.' If I saw a shooting star, I would wish to be on 'Saturday Night Live.' |

I moved to Hollywood when I was 22. I was married. I had a kid right away. And I had worked as a furniture mover amongst various other jobs, and I'd work eight, ten hours a day to support my family - and I'd come home and write for two hours a night or two and a half, or three hours a night. |

Alright so yesterday I woke up with the top of my foot having a weird scab that I somehow got in the middle of the night. Almost felt like glass was stuck in there. Today I see it is clearly 4 separate marks (something bit me? there is a rogue mouse around but do they bite like a spider might?) and anyway I'm looking at it and 3 are in the shape of orions belt (2 large ones and an off center third) and the 4th one is kinda up and over and much bigger. Looking up the orion constellation I find that this is Bellatrix (the big cut)
Looking more into Bellatrix, here is the information I find most unusual:

Got a flat tire last night in the middle of nowhere. Far from anyone I knew. Then we got the spare on with help and got on our way and then it started pouring rain. Then the fog and the frogs came out. Frogs EVERYWHERE. Then lots of deer and a possum, but we made it. What a night.

5 is good and was on point at the right time but comparing the content to this one its way different. he was still about all the mainstreadm society stuff even tho he was denouncing it, this time hes so past it (not really, but in a sense) that he doesnt even mention it.

I'm working on the quotes thing. I think people should get some sort of points for commenting on other peoples thoughts. That way you don't just get points for posting stuff but you also get points for communicating with others.

I had some kinda dream that was a mix of this cooking guy youtube guy, these podcast science guys, and prozd. I wanted to ask them to do some experiments on what the best mac n cheese noodle shape is. Like what is the best shape to carry all the cheese sauce? Does it need to have some structure so you can get a good bite? What are all the relevant factors?

I had a dream that involved this shopping center a lot for some reason. I went there with my parents and I went there with my violin to play a few times and it seemed like the past because I had my parent's old car. But then also in grad school, ppl were texting me asking where I was and I was like always at one of the places in the center. One was a steak n shake and ppl would text me and be like "where are you" and I'd tell them I was there and they asked me why and I was like I love milkshakes what don't you understand. And then I remember doing academic things and traveling with the lab but then having to leave one place early to go to France. One person knew that I knew this one guy that died and she was like asking me to tell other people what he had said to me and I was like I don't know. I think you guys know everything. I don't think he told me anything he didn't tell you but this really stressed me out for some reason that she thought I knew more. And I was sad and ppl didn'...

The absurd thing about coding is that you can be so close to right and nonetheless get complete garbage for an answer. If you can get it, you win big time, but if you fuck up the right spot, it's all over. -- someone who just spent hours being an idiot attempting to code in the middle of the night and making sleepy math mistakes that are totally avoidable if you take care of yourself

I had some dream that I was flying with a wing suit and I flew past a roller coaster and I jumped into one of the seats and then I was going around these turns and trying to put the seat belt on. Then the ride turned into what seemed like a relatively boring transportation system and it took me to the middle of this city and there were two people there telling me that I needed to get into this house or some zombies were going to come kill me.

We saw everything as small metaphors for the origins of humanity. We hit all the major points. How did we get here? The war paint, the Tai Chi, fire, discovery, the commandments, friendship, love, jealousy, sacrifices, blessings, old technology and familiarity, unknown travelers of similar origins. Those who were in the exact same place in the past, doing the same basic things. Our version of the cycle was life changing and we represented all different aspects of humanity.
