I had a dream where I biked to a party with a couple friends, but I forgot cash and couldn't get in. The friends couldn't get in, either, because the people hosting the party were racist and they were black. We started to bike home all the way from Detroit (I have no idea where home was, but it was far from Detroit), and I almost ended up in a ditch. While trying not to fall into the ditch, I saw a baby rattlesnake there, which made me panic and nearly knock myself over. (I found out that there are rattlesnakes in California when I biked past two of them over the weekend, which is probably why this dream was rattlesnake themed).

I had a dream last night about my meeting tomorrow. It didn't go well.

I had a dream that I showed up to work at Google, but I was a week early and totally unprepared. I was living in an apartment building that also had a bunch of businesses in it, and you would walk down the hall past doors open to people's rooms (it was more like a dorm in that sense) and then past a UPS place. It was very strange, and had a reputation for not being very safe.

I had a dream that I got a bunch of tattoos on my back that matched a friend's tattoos. They had no significance to me and didn't look good at all. I regretted it intensely.

I procrastinated on submitting expense reports for both of my interviews (which happened almost a month ago) until today. All of the sudden, when the weight of final projects came crashing down, it seemed very important to take out the envelopes of receipts and carefully itemize my expenses.

Oh god, I had a dream that I gave birth after witnessing like 10 other women miscarry/have abortions. Then I was like, "What the fuck? How did I get this far along in a pregnancy without thinking about the consequences? FUUUUUCK." But I accepted it as fact and started trying to figure out what the implications were for my relationship and moving out to the west coast. Then I woke up and realized none of it was true, and it was a relief but still mortifying. This is the second "giving birth oh god how did I not consider the consequences" dream I've had. They're awful.

Charlie, I'm thrilled that the related quotes feature is up and running, and congratulations, but what on earth are some of these quotes? I'm not into the Goethe quote about silver dishes and golden apples. It's a relic of a time when women were thought to be passive creatures with no will of their own. You should do some quotation curation.

I had a dream last night about grocery shopping. I bought at least 3 different types of apples. I almost forgot to get potatoes, and I only realized it when I got to the checkout line with my class project partner (we were shopping together, apparently), so I panicked and ran off to find them.

Hahahaha suck it up and buy a vibrator. In my experience, people who work at sex shops are really friendly and interested in helping you meet your needs, whatever they may be.

Charlie, I like the new research page. (I don't know how new it actually is, but it can't have been there more than a couple months tops). How much do you pay in hosting fees per year? I'd be totally happy to chip in.

Sometimes I'm so busy hating school that I forget about how cool everything I'm learning is. I just had a moment where I thought to myself, "UGH I should start reading this damn paper to prepare for my proposal. DAMNIT." And then I started reading it and I realized, "Oh, man, this is awesome! What a great idea!"

I don't disagree with that, and we did make an effort to be prompt in responding to questions on Piazza. The attitude was more the problem. It certainly wasn't everyone, but a small fraction of rude/entitled students in a 200+ person class is enough to be felt. They seemed to forget that we're also students and have other responsibilities as well.

This summer, I've taken up painting. I'm no good at it, but I thoroughly enjoy it. It's pretty nice to give myself permission to be bad at it and have fun anyway.
