I feel like the act of trying to understand someone else or something they've done is like dimensionality reduction. Each person has a different transform for the same space of experiences. Basically, people can't go through exactly what you went through, so to understand you they have to imagine and assess what they think are the important parts of what happened. Then if they suck at the reduction or process your experience in a space where high variance explaining components are different than yours (different things are important to them) then they will not understand or appreciate what you do.

I had a dream that there was a dollhouse or something and that people in the real world could be put in the dollhouse and they'd be like copies of the people. Inside the dollhouse, there were these giant slug things that would latch on to people and suck the life out of them. The people were trying to escape. They thought that they were the real people and didn't know that they were copies.

After 43 years working in one of Japan's leading banks, 81-year-old Masako Wakamiya has launched an iPhone app called "Hinadan" that shows users how to stage traditional dolls for the Hinamatsuri festival. From a report on CNN Money:
She says she felt compelled to do something after noticing a shortage of fun apps aimed at people her age. "We easily lose games when playing against young people, since our finger movements can't match their speed," Wakamiya told CNN. The retired banker asked a bunch of people to create games for seniors, but no one was interested. So she took matters into her own hands and achieved something many people half her age haven't done. "I wanted to create a fun app to get elderly people interested in smartphones," she said. "It took about half a year to develop." Hey everyone! I'm Charlie's buddy MiiIIiIIIiiRRiiAAmmmMMmm for those of you who don't know me (and Reed's roommate if any of you know him). I was hoping maybe one or two or three of you could help me out with something. I AM IN NEED OF KIDS.
Explanation: I'm learning how to administer cognitive tests to kids as part of my training in clinical psychology. I need to find children ages 6 to 16 that would be willing to take practice cognitive tests with me this summer (and parents that are willing), but I don't know any in kids in Michigan. Do any of you have siblings/cousins that are kids or know people who have kids that might be interested? A lot of kids actually find it fun, and I would give them a small prize/thank-you gift. I'm also really, really desperate.

I don't know. It's hard to say. The architecture in my dreams is so interesting. I always imagine buildings that I think look really cool but when I wake up I know that they're completely impractical/impossible. Maybe the way that I interpreted it when I woke up made it look like it wasn't complete.
For the wolf thing, there was definitely a disinterest in the people in that park. Not being interested in what people were doing and wanting to wander off into nature.
