You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection. |

Generally, you are held to a sound and that becomes your sound. That gets branded as your sound, and all the copycats start with it because the labels are looking for that sound. |

On the musical side, I always wanted to kind of carry on Pink Floyd's sound. You know, Pink Floyd always had such an original, creative and masterful sound, but there are no new albums. My thought was that there's a way to keep their sound alive. |

There is a sound that comes from gospel music that doesn't come from anything else. It is a sound of peace. It is a sound of, 'I'm going to make it through all of this.' |
Marilyn Manson |
Growing up going to Christian school and the concept that you're born a sinner and you don't really have a choice to change who you are has been hammered into my head and created the entire reason why I made art and made a band and made records called 'Antichrist Superstar.' |

I don't think my competition is with the heroes. I don't think I'm competing with anyone. I don't mean to sound Zen, but genuinely, when I stopped competing with anything is when I started enjoying my work, and that brought out the best in me. I'm living in a universe of my own, and I'm enjoying that. I love to appreciate other people's work. |

I really love the EMS Vocoder 2000, which is a pretty nice little box. You put one thing in one end and another in the other end, and you're able to change vocals by the sound and do a lot - it's just got a great sound. But the thing is, it's a bit clunky, so it's kind of hard to use it. |

I was incredibly intimidated playing Lincoln Lee in the alternate universe, which was the first role I played on 'Fringe' because I was actually the head of a Fringe division and the head of a unit that was going out and I had to lead entire SWAT teams of people. I really questioned in myself, 'Can I carry that responsibility?' |

I'm sure everyone knows that my heart is and always will be with the players, the fans and the entire Dodger family. I've cared about the Dodgers for nearly my entire life, and nothing can change my allegiance to this franchise. |

I do believe that belief is the most powerful thing we have in this world. So, if we believe in something enough. And we have faith, we can make it a reality. That is basically the basis of my entire career and my entire life. |

"i think the smallest things we do can cause entire dimensional shifts or tangent/parallel paths for us to take. like a deep conversation or a series of events can fundamentally change our universe and the path we (as spiritual beings) are on. like little positive moments (or negative too) can be the seeds for total change in our world, and like the butterfly effect it will affect eternally, the entire universe, from the tiniest random experiences.
"Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence."

I definitely have misophonia for the sound of people eating. It doesn't happen all the time but sometimes the sound of people chewing makes me want to kill them.

Researcher Turns HDD Into Rudimentary Microphone
Speaking at a security conference, researcher Alfredo Ortega has revealed that you can use your hard disk drive (HDD) as a rudimentary microphone to pick up nearby sounds. This is possible because of how hard drives are designed to work. Sounds or nearby vibrations are nothing more than mechanical waves that cause HDD platters to vibrate. By design, a hard drive cannot read or write information to an HDD platter that moves under vibrations, so the hard drive must wait for the oscillation to stop before carrying out any actions. Because modern operating systems come with utilities that measure HDD operations up to nanosecond accuracy, Ortega realized that he could use these tools to measure delays in HDD operations. The longer the delay, t...

I like the sound of really loud electromagnets and sex. I like hearing people yell poetry angrily over the sound of old crushed up magnets disrupting a voltage.

CERN Scientists Conclude that the Universe Should Not Exist (ign.com)
Scientists at CERN are bemused as to why the universe exists, according to a new study. From a report, shared by a reader: Recent discoveries suggest that there's a perfect symmetry between matter and antimatter - meaning it's not clear why they didn't annihilate each other upon the birth of the universe. CERN's latest study sought to find out whether different magnetic properties accounted for matter's seeming victory after the Big Bang, but found another point of symmetry. Essentially, going by our findings so far, there simply shouldn't be a universe.

I had a dream that my friends were at my parent's house for a party I was throwing. I was really busy so I was downstairs working on something on my computer but they were all upstairs in this tiny room that had three beds in it. They were laying there talking. I came up once to see how they were doing and they tried to make me play heads-up-7up, but I told them I didn't like that game and I didn't know how to play and I left. They thought my reaction was funny and went back to what they were doing. Downstairs I was working and drinking a huge strawberry milkshake.
One of my friends was leaving and I heard her go out the front door so I went to follow her to say bye. She went out and I couldn't find shoes so I went out barefoot. She didn't see me at all and got in her car. I was going af...

did you go to different realities in the different parts of the hotel? in theory if everything is frequencies then you could make an xavier-style method of searching out certain kinds of people based on their vibration patterns (potentially even searching out thoughts by the way it effects the physical body) then by identifying these frequencies or individuals, you could send out signals on the same wavelength to disrupt them or locate them

There's a hole that takes you to other holes on other planets where evil aliens enslave other humans across the galaxy. Then earth fights them with p90s which are way more effective than laser staffs. It's kind of campy, and has some humor. Then they made Stargate Universe to capitalize on the BSG stuff, so it's super dark (one of the characters gets ALS haha). Season 3 finale of BSG might be the best tv I've ever seen.

I had a dream that I was in an insane asylum and they were testing drugs on people and they gave me one that they wanted to use to control people's bodies. It didn't work and it made people seize when they tried it. It killed a lot of people. They would try to activate the chemical at certain times and I think that corresponded to my real life stomach pain.

This is the last time I'll post here while procrastinating a machine learning assignment (assuming no revisions need to be made after the poster presentation). A reflection on my first year of grad school: I have never been so consistently miserable. Sure, undergrad was hard, especially senior year when I was cramming in an entire computer science minor, but the challenge was rewarding. The huge class sizes at Michigan are demoralizing. It feels like a factory. Being on the instructor side as a GSI is equally frustrating. I don't actually know how everyone is doing, so I can't what the majority of students actually needs. Office hours are probably my favorite part, since people come in who are motivated and have concrete questions that I can help with, which is great. But the entitlement of students on Piazza is horrible. I probably shouldn't take it so personally, but it's hard not to. I feel like I'm not good enough at anything.
