William Arthur Ward |
The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. |

You play a 'lowdown dirty shame slow and lonesome, my mama dead, my papa across the sea I ain't dead but I'm just supposed to be' blues. You can take that same blues, make it uptempo, a shuffle blues, that's what rock n' roll did with it. So blues ain't going nowhere. Ain't goin' nowhere. |
Kathy Acker |
I question: do we really understand the differences between modernist and postmodernist? |
R. Buckminster Fuller |
Love is metaphysical gravity. |
Abdullah Ibrahim |
When time and space and change converge, we find place. We arrive in Place when we resolve things. Place is peace of mind and understanding. Place is knowledge of self. Place is resolution. |
Idris Elba |
I don't have a place that I call home at the moment because there's no point. I mean, I'm a traveling circus for a while. It's weird. Like, if I wanted to go home, there's nowhere to go. I just go to a hotel. But I've kind of gotten used to it. |
Berenice Abbott |
There are many teachers who could ruin you. Before you know it you could be a pale copy of this teacher or that teacher. You have to evolve on your own. |
Justin Townes Earle |
I've always written. When I was in school, the only teacher who ever liked me was my creative writing teacher. I used to enter poetry competitions, and I don't think I ever lost one. So I had the idea for a while of being some kind of poet. |
H. G. Wells |
Leaders should lead as far as they can and then vanish. Their ashes should not choke the fire they have lit. |
Helen Hunt Jackson |
I know the lands are lit, with all the autumn blaze of Goldenrod. |

I think you may be overlooking just how wrong people can be about what interests them. The requirements of my undergrad are what made me even consider trying out computer science in the first place. I would probably be an elementary school teacher by now if it weren't for my lab science requirement. Also, college provides some small form of quality control for the instructors. Not a lot, but certainly more than a decentralized network.

The lil teacher lady that emma is setting up with the debate teacher in clueless has caught my attention bc it seems like her style is very similar to mine. i was thinking she had a cute look and realized that later emma and stacy dash makeover attack her later. I fear i might be makeover attacked by the high school emmas and stacy dashes of the present.

While the question of human freedom in the metaphysical sense loses interest to the absurd man, he gains freedom in a very concrete sense: no longer bound by hope for a better future or eternity, without a need to pursue life's purpose or to create meaning, "he enjoys a freedom with regard to common rules".

If I had to choose between my pizza place having enough dough for me to place an order and the superbowl not being canceled, I'd choose the former.

Last night I had a dream that I was taking an exam and Tina Fey was my teacher. It was one of those easy exams where you're supposed to know every answer but I didn't know any of them and was really stressed out about it. Good thing I'm not in school anymore!

Before these eleven virtues is a virtue which is nameless.
Miyamoto Musashi wrote, in The Book of Five Rings:
“The primary thing when you take a sword in your hands is your intention to cut the enemy, whatever the means. Whenever you parry, hit, spring, strike or touch the enemy’s cutting sword, you must cut the enemy in the same movement. It is essential to attain this. If you think only of hitting, springing, striking or touching the enemy, you will not be able actually to cut him. More than anything, you must be thinking of carrying your movement through to cutting him.”...
