I had a dream that a child was explaining to me how to murder people by trapping them in a freezing swimming pool. The narration of his explanation went in and out of me experiencing a story of people as if it were the present. Kind of like a TV show. There was some kind of commune where things were not going well and some rich person's hotel next door with people who would stare into your eyes but never spoke to you. Not so sure about all the details in between. |

The details are details. They make the product. The connections, the connections, the connections. It will in the end be these details that give the product its life. |

I have very fond memories of swimming in Walden Pond when we lived in Boston. You'd swim past a log and see all these turtles sunning themselves. Slightly disturbing if you thought about how many more were swimming around your toes, but also rather wonderful. |

Anytime I feel lost, I pull out a map and stare. I stare until I have reminded myself that life is a giant adventure, so much to do, to see. |

You have to come to your closed doors before you get to your open doors... What if you knew you had to go through 32 closed doors before you got to your open door? Well, then you'd come to closed door number eight and you'd think, 'Great, I got another one out of the way'... Keep moving forward. |

I have become my own version of an optimist. If I can't make it through one door, I'll go through another door - or I'll make a door. Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present. |

Swimming and athletics are the big gigs at the Olympic games. Cycling and rowing are pretty big for Britain, but globally, the two big things are athletics and swimming. |

I have plenty of dream roles because there is so much I want to do, but my dream year would be to be in a single-camera comedy and then, on my hiatus, film a little low-budget indie drama. That would be a dream 12-month period. A dream role depends on having good material and working with people that I can learn from. |

Previous generations used to eat locally out of necessity. Without options like flash-freezing and worldwide export services, communities had to rely on local farms for all of their meals. In many ways, this was beneficial. People ate fresh, seasonal foods that were naturally flavorful and nutritious, and farmers and communities prospered. |

I think it'd be cool to see some kind of dystopian sci-fi movie come out where its like AI is everywhere and it's messing stuff up but there are people who can break the AI by acting really weird. Like if their behavior is out of distribution then the systems breakdown and it's kind of like hacking. Could have an opening scene where its like a business meeting or something and there is a human that suspects that the people he's meeting are machines, so he starts saying weirder stuff and the AI keeps the conversation going or something where it should have stopped or been confused. Could have some other parts where people just do really bizarre movements, dress weird, and make weird sounds to fool robots.

Bizarre futurism thought: Imagine a future where tech education is a mandatory component of schooling for all ages. Now, combine that with some kind of companion robot that kids receive when they are young and custom upgrade as they learn how throughout their life. Does the robot's development become an external symbol of the child's internal development? Would people have robot envy? Would rich assholes hire people to mod their robots in ways they don't understand (definitely)? STRANGE!

I had a dream that there was a dollhouse or something and that people in the real world could be put in the dollhouse and they'd be like copies of the people. Inside the dollhouse, there were these giant slug things that would latch on to people and suck the life out of them. The people were trying to escape. They thought that they were the real people and didn't know that they were copies.

I had a dream I was stuck in some kind of machinery. I was with other people but then we got in these metal things that were really just a platform and a few bars keeping you from falling off the side and they hovered around. This one went way up in the air in this huge indoor auditorium -- like 5 stories high. Then it was up against the ceiling and I had to take a test or something. I was afraid it was going to fall down but it didn't.

“A success story isn’t complete without the hard work and explanation of why we were successful. Did the success come easy, thanks to one’s talents, or was it attained through hard work? Both of these attributions can be part of successful self-promotion, but my research shows that emphasizing effort is more likely to garner a positive impression and people really want to know the story behind your success.
“For example, if you’re on a date and talking about a marathon that you recently ran, perhaps talk about all the training that helped you to cross the finish line. Or, if you’re in a job interview and are talking about a successful project that you led to completion, include a few details about the challenges along the way, and how you overcame them.”

Well, it's kind of incentivized because you can't get points without posting. Maybe a leader board would make it more competitive/exciting, and encourage people to try to post more interesting things?

I had a dream that Ben and I were stuck in this huge building that was sometimes an airplane and we kept moving through small doorways and windows of rooms mashed together in ways you'd not see in real life. Every room was different but all of them were kind of old and dusty and kind of gross looking. Some of them just had cracks in the wall that you could see through and it was like looking into completely different worlds. There were some people but no one acknowledged we were there. As we crawled through the rooms they got smaller and more claustrophobic feeling. Eventually we just started ripping the walls down. Then someone came up to us and told us they were going to kick us off the plane and I woke up.

I had one dream where I was on a beach or a field or maybe it was both but I was flying around on some kind of gliding machine that caught a strong breeze. It didn't have a motor or anything so it hit the ground eventually and there were some people there and they invited us to go see their cabin and then the one guy turned out to just be completely crazy. Like you could not predict anything he was about to do. He might try to bake you a cake one second and kill you the next. It was disturbing and we tried to get away as fast as we could and he said he would follow us and come see us later. There was a woman there with him who was trying to tell him to stop doing things all the time but it was so mind-shatteringly unpredictable. Then I had some other dream that I was dressed as a doctor and trying to avoid this person that wanted to ask me out.

I had a dream that I was in a tall building that looked like hotel rooms and offices and I was waiting deep in this hotel-room type looking thing (but much bigger) around a bunch of corners for someone to open this door and try to assassinate me. There were a lot of mirrors so even though I was way in the back as far from the door as possible, I could still see the door and I was just waiting for it to open.

I had a dream I was with a couple friends. I dunno where but we were outside and it looked kind of jungley and they said I should meet them at this restaurant later and they left. So then I was walking to that place down these roads but it stopped being roads and became a less clear path and there was water everywhere like a swamp kind of. There were lots of snakes swimming around and some tried to bite me and I was like this is fine and just kicked them away and kept walking. But then there were so many in the water and in the trees and I felt some of them bite me but some of the other ones I didn't feel and then there were snakes all over me and then I woke up.
