I had a dream that Ben and I were stuck in this huge building that was sometimes an airplane and we kept moving through small doorways and windows of rooms mashed together in ways you'd not see in real life. Every room was different but all of them were kind of old and dusty and kind of gross looking. Some of them just had cracks in the wall that you could see through and it was like looking into completely different worlds. There were some people but no one acknowledged we were there. As we crawled through the rooms they got smaller and more claustrophobic feeling. Eventually we just started ripping the walls down. Then someone came up to us and told us they were going to kick us off the plane and I woke up. |

If you take one rivet out of an airplane, it will be all right, it'll keep flying. You take another rivet out of the airplane and it still flies. So what the heck, let's take more rivets out of the airplane, and sooner or later, the airplane drops from the sky. |

My new house has a deck that wraps around my writing room; my writing room has many windows, and outside the windows I've hung bird feeders... for enticing different species. So I imagine I will be writing about that. |

These people live again in print as intensely as when their images were captured on old dry plates of sixty years ago... I am walking in their alleys, standing in their rooms and sheds and workshops, looking in and out of their windows. Any they in turn seem to be aware of me. |

Sometimes I like them artificial and sometimes I like them real. And the reason is because sometimes I like a real close sound. And I like a very specific snare sound and I can't get that in the big room. |

We were playing a small club in San Diego and the power had gone out in the building. Eddie had a lighter and kept us lit backstage. We became very good friends and spent a lot of time together including hearing Eddie sing in some of the bands he was in at the time. |

A poem with grandly conceived and executed stanzas, such as one of Keats's odes, should be like an enfilade of rooms in a palace: one proceeds, with eager anticipation, from room to room. |

I've never looked at a suburban building as being a minor building and an urban building as being a major building. |

The worst thing any decorator can do is give a client the feeling that he's walking around somebody else's house; the rooms must belong to the owner, not to the decorator; and no rooms can have atmosphere unless they are used and lived in. |

I think this year we'll open up 900 gross, we're closing some, so the net count is lower, but the 900 are spread all over the place. Some of the closures are relocations, where you're moving it to another place in the marketplace. |

For years, I've thought about a project or a way where I could do acting and music together, and I never really thought that would happen. Then 'Nashville' came along, and it was like a dream come true to marry both of those worlds. |

I had a mid-apocolyptic dream and I was traveling somewhere and a lot of churches and schools were in the same building because there weren't as many buildings and there were a lot of religious schools and things that weren't destroyed. I went down into the basement with some people and we were trying to get clean water and a lot of mud came out of the faucets and we were boiling the water and bugs were coming out of it and wriggling away. We thought that there was a bomb in one of the rooms so we started evacuating the building. I rented a house which was pretty cheap for some reason but there was a lot of rare artifacts and things in the house. There was a kid and his two parents that owned the house. I never saw the mom but 5 thieves came and shot the dad and then the kid went nuts and grabbed a gun and killed all the thieves. There was also another part of the dream where there was a bunch of moving conveyor belts and some people were getting stuck in the machinery but I don't rem...

I had a dream that I was a zombie and I had a wound on the back of my head and if I was moving a certain way, a flap of skin on the back of my head would fall down (but still attached) and expose my brain. I was in some kind of public building that seemed like an airport in some parts and a library in others. I wandered down a long corridor with nothing but blank white walls into a carpeted bathroom with a lot of windows. I just wanted to see what my head looked like. There were many locked doors and I found a sign that said "the unholy are not welcome". I had a vague sense that people I knew were in the building but I was panicking and tried to leave. Two people started following me and I somehow knew that they were hunting zombies. I knew they must of seen the wound on my head and knew what happened. I had no idea how I had died but I didn't want to die again so I started running.

I had a dream I was stuck in some kind of machinery. I was with other people but then we got in these metal things that were really just a platform and a few bars keeping you from falling off the side and they hovered around. This one went way up in the air in this huge indoor auditorium -- like 5 stories high. Then it was up against the ceiling and I had to take a test or something. I was afraid it was going to fall down but it didn't.

I had another dream where I was in a building with some people and we went down this elevator and then there were buttons to go to other worlds. I had to go to this other one. I don't know why but I hit the button and when I came out the things that were walking around this building were like creepy crawling things with lots of legs. They were as small as rats and as tall as 4 or 5 feet but they always had some body parts that had way too many tentacles or antennae or legs. There didn't seem to be an outdoors, just a series of worlds connected by these elevators.

I had a dream that I lived in some community. It seemed rural and consisted of 3 or 4 huge buildings with lots of little rooms. In this world, it was common knowledge that there were these huge wolves that lived in the forest. People said they were about 7 feet tall and 15 feet long (maybe twice the size of extinct dire wolves). I was outside on the roof of one of the buildings. I don't know what I was doing. I think I was doing chores or something. This building was 4 or 5 stories but not in all areas, so parts of the roof dropped off to two or three stories below. There was probably no one else outside at the time when I noticed a wolf even bigger than people talked about. It had black fur and was maybe 12 feet tall and 20 feet long. I was freaked the fuck out. It saw me and started climbing the building and I jumped off the top part to a few stories down and fell through the roof into the building so I could hide from the wolf. Then I just remember trying to warn people and wonderi...

I had a dream that my friends were at my parent's house for a party I was throwing. I was really busy so I was downstairs working on something on my computer but they were all upstairs in this tiny room that had three beds in it. They were laying there talking. I came up once to see how they were doing and they tried to make me play heads-up-7up, but I told them I didn't like that game and I didn't know how to play and I left. They thought my reaction was funny and went back to what they were doing. Downstairs I was working and drinking a huge strawberry milkshake.
One of my friends was leaving and I heard her go out the front door so I went to follow her to say bye. She went out and I couldn't find shoes so I went out barefoot. She didn't see me at all and got in her car. I was going af...

i had a dream within a dream within a dream last night
in the deepest dream, which is the hardest to remember, I know there was something scary. I don't remember what exactly was scary, but I do remember it involved being in a spooky-looking basement, one of those that feels cold, drippy, moist like a cave, spider webs all over. I think this basement was pretty empty. I remember being in a stairway that led down to it, looking down into its depths, the golden light behind me fading darker with each step.
I remember being in the basement. I don't remember what was happening in there. I wasn...

I had a dream that my apartment was huge. It had tunnels with no windows that were all still on the second floor, just like my apartment. There seemed to be a whole school in there after you followed one of the tunnels and then there was a room full of tiny lockers stacked to the ceiling, which was maybe 20ft high. There was a fence down the middle of the room and on the other side of the fence there were desks and boxes and other junk. I kept finding nodes with my name on them but most of the writings on the notes were illegible.

I had a dream that I was in my friends new apartment and it was all dark and dank. We went up a couple floors of stairs and into his apartment and then I kept opening doors and going down dark hallways and the apartment just kept going deeper into the building. Eventually, I ended up underground in some secret tunnels and I saw giant robots and I was sneaking around trying to find a way out. I ended up running into some glass room that was really bright and filled with huge machines. A robot ran in and I think was trying to kill me and I woke up. Then I had another dream that I was in some building that kept changing shapes and ran into some person I used to know.

A very memorable dream/nightmare from my *very* early childhood, like 2 or 3 years old.
Background: In real life, I had a little teddy bear that had a sound or vibration box inside it, meant to be evocative of the mother's heartbeat while in the womb, it's supposed to be cozy or comforting. It turned on with a little knob that you twist, which you access in the back behind a velcro flap. Anyway, I did like that bear, and I liked snuggling it.
More background: When i was really little, I must have seen some kind of zelda movie (wait...is zelda what I mean? I'm referring to those movies abo...
