I would live off bitcoins as I have a much stronger belief in the "goodness" of btc compared to a very very inflated american dollar. Between providing for yourself and using bitcoins, thats all you need to have the best of both worlds IMO. granted this has all been idealistic but thats what im getting at. I dont want to desire to go see movies or use fb or play video games. I desire to desire for simplicity.

A Coal Power Plant is Being Reopened For Blockchain Mining
Sure, you could mine bitcoin on that old PC in your garage, or you could use a whole power station to do it. That's the idea behind the Blockchain Application Centre -- an Aussie tech initiative that will see one of the country's now-shuttered coal-fired power plants reopened to provide cheap power for blockchain applications. You're also choosing the sequence. There is a finite number of sequences but those are really big numbers. You can easily choose a sequence of numbers no one has chosen before. I think that counts as creating something new. I mean... you don't get to decide which numbers exist, but you can choose which ones to run.
