I woke up thinking this guy in my dream was just annoying, but reading it again I can see that it is pretty funny lol. |

I still think of that guy I was without a wife or kids, and I still want to entertain that guy. The lonely guy, the frustrated guy, the guy with no money - this is the guy who needs to laugh. |
Paul Feig |
What I don't like is when I see stuff that I know has had a lot of improv done or is playing around where there's no purpose to the scene other than to just be funny. What you don't want is funny scene, funny scene, funny scene, and now here's the epiphany scene and then the movie's over. |
Christine Ebersole |
I thought my family was really funny. Everybody in my family was funny. My mom and dad both have great senses of humor and really saw the funny in stuff, so I think that's probably where it came from. I always try to see the funny in things. |
John Baldessari |
That word 'funny' always makes me feel uncomfortable. Because if I were trying to be funny, I would be something like Bill Wegman - he really tries to be funny. I don't try to be funny. It's just that I feel the world is a little bit absurd and off-kilter, and I'm sort of reporting. |
Katie Featherston |
I have plenty of dream roles because there is so much I want to do, but my dream year would be to be in a single-camera comedy and then, on my hiatus, film a little low-budget indie drama. That would be a dream 12-month period. A dream role depends on having good material and working with people that I can learn from. |
Kathy Baker |
I love to do comedy, and I don't think of things as drama or comedy. I think that if it's a funny line, it's a funny line. If it's a funny moment, it's a funny moment. |
Elizabeth Taylor |
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues. |
Lee Hall |
I don't really find things funny unless they're deeply tragic at the same time. I think if you're funny just for the sake of being funny, it's just frivolous nonsense. To me, all the best comic plays have been written about really serious and rather bleak things. |
Eduardo Galeano |
Reality is very, very contradictory, and so I try to write just perfecting what I see, what I read, what I feel, in a feel-thinking way. Not only giving ideas, or receiving ideas, or trying to explain something, but mainly feel-thinking, a feel-thinking language able to tie the heart and the mind, which have been divorced. |
Rodney Dangerfield |
I had plenty of pimples as a kid. One day I fell asleep in the library. When I woke up, a blind man was reading my face. |

when you got a guy talking with the vibe he's reading a script but he leans into bc it's funny but it's good enough where you're like woah-is he doing that to be funny or is he not even aware of it all
that's the funniest combo

i had a dream within a dream within a dream last night
in the deepest dream, which is the hardest to remember, I know there was something scary. I don't remember what exactly was scary, but I do remember it involved being in a spooky-looking basement, one of those that feels cold, drippy, moist like a cave, spider webs all over. I think this basement was pretty empty. I remember being in a stairway that led down to it, looking down into its depths, the golden light behind me fading darker with each step.
I remember being in the basement. I don't remember what was happening in there. I wasn...

One time when I was younger, my brother was mowing the lawn and I was having a really great time chasing him. I was laughing a lot because of how annoying he thought I was. For whatever reason I thought it was so funny to see him try to flee me while on the lawn mower and it was also hilarious how mad he was getting, and I found the whole thing just too funny so I fell over laughing. Well my dog was also having a great time running around in circles in the yard bc i was and he was running really fast and ran over my face. His paw punched my eye and I had a black eye. Lol.

I had a dream that I was on a boat and the boat was attached to a bigger boat and we were headed somewhere. I fell asleep and when I woke up my boat was partially under water and I couldn't see the larger boat so I was pretty sure that I was stranded in the middle of the ocean and pretty sure I was going to drown. I couldn't even get out of my boat without swimming under because the front side was sinking and that's where the door was.

Oh god, I had a dream that I gave birth after witnessing like 10 other women miscarry/have abortions. Then I was like, "What the fuck? How did I get this far along in a pregnancy without thinking about the consequences? FUUUUUCK." But I accepted it as fact and started trying to figure out what the implications were for my relationship and moving out to the west coast. Then I woke up and realized none of it was true, and it was a relief but still mortifying. This is the second "giving birth oh god how did I not consider the consequences" dream I've had. They're awful.

Now you got me thinking though... what makes something funny... and why? I have read papers about this from psychology and from computer science but I'm not remembering.

Oh, that sounds pretty funny. That was always the kind of show I could only watch like 1 or 2 episodes of in a row max.

Those nested dreams are the wackiest. That all sounds pretty funny, cool, and interesting overall though :)
