i find myself listening to the same stuff forever and not taking in new sounds as much as i used to. its a much slower process for music to enter my life.
i used to use bassdrive.com 's drum and bass station to code too. independent internet radio stations are good for new music that people dont know |

That was the big thing when I was growing up, singing on the radio. The extent of my dream was to sing on the radio station in Memphis. Even when I got out of the Air Force in 1954, I came right back to Memphis and started knocking on doors at the radio station. |

The same music is playing on the radio in San Francisco, New York, Washington DC and Annapolis. Everywhere you go there's the same artists and same songs by them, over and over again. At some stations they play the same songs 50 to 60 times a week. |

My definition of hip hop is taking elements from many other spheres of music to make hip hop. Whether it be breakbeat, whether it be the groove and grunt of James Brown or the pickle-pop sounds of Kraftwerk or Yellow Magic Orchestra, hip hop is also part of what they call hip-house now, or trip hop, or even parts of drum n' bass. |

If you really want a radio station to play your song, go to that radio station every day with that song in your hand and say, 'Please play it.' |

Very few pilots even know how to read Morse code anymore. But if a pilot could read Morse code, he could tell which beacon he was approaching by the code that was flashing from it. |

The Oval Office symbolizes... the Constitution, the hopes and dreams, and I'm going to say democracy. And when you have a dress code in the Supreme Court and a dress code on the floor of the Senate, floor of the House, I think it's appropriate to have an expectation that there will be a dress code that respects the office of the President. |

The bass line is the anchor for me. I started with the bass, and either doubled that and then added the harmonies, or sometimes added my own harmonies that I've always wanted to sing on the song. And then it just went on from there - singing violin parts and trumpet parts and just trying to emulate the sounds of the instruments. |

Ben was more improvisational, and relied less on methodology, and basically is a guitarist who switched to bass, whereas Jeff has a more traditional approach to playing bass in a band, and has a great sense of what his band sounds like, and we lock up nicely. |
Afrojack |
Most music that comes out of Holland is basically the harder part of dance music - hip-hop, drum'n'bass. |

'Homeward Bound.' I find myself listening to that tune a lot when I'm traveling. Sitting in a railway station, wanting to go home, carrying all your stuff with you. |

"Jay-Z and Beyonce in their car, quietly driving. They’re listening to a classic hip hop station when Big Pimpin’ comes on. Jay locks his eyes on the road, steering stiffly. He tries not to breathe. He can feel Beyonce’s eyes on him, glinting in the passing of headlights. He reaches for the radio, slowly, carefully… “Don’t,” she says, barely a whisper, but somehow he hears it over the bass. “Let’s listen.” His blood runs cold."

What's the deal with Christmas music? People should play music for all of the holidays equally. Like, why aren't they playing Halloween music or Thanksgiving music? #everybodydeservestobeloved #endholidaydiscrimination

I feel like I used to use music-induced mania to write code. That doesn't sound like a real thing but there were for sure kinds of music that were new to me that helped me code. All my music feels old and predictable now. It does not give the same effect.

ill respond to your question tomorrow when im not going to bed but i wanted to pop on to say that he told me god wanted him desperately to relay these messages to me. and that i have an important role with the youth and also that I had a decision to make soon to live with the truth or forever live in ignorance. the stuff with the youth resonated 100& with my music and again, it just clicked. perhaps my music is a conduit of god to share the message. and empower us because everything is before us we just need to ask.

French Gas Stations Robbed After Forgetting To Change Gas Pump PINs (zdnet.com) 66
French authorities have arrested five men who stole over 120,000 liters (26,400 gallons) of fuel from gas stations around Paris by unlocking gas pumps using a special remote. The five-man team operated with the help of a special remote they bought online and which could unlock a particular brand of gas pumps installed at Total gas stations. The hack was possible because some gas station managers didn't change the gas pump's default lock code from the standard 0000. Hackers would use this simple PIN code to reset fuel prices and remove any fill-up limits. ...

Spotify Data Shows How Music Preferences Change With Latitude
A paper in Nature Human Behaviour this week drew on the listening data of nearly a million Spotify listeners from around the world, describing the daily and seasonal variations in how people listen. The researchers suggest that the results point to a universal human habit that probably sounds familiar: choosing your music to both match and change your mood. Ars Technica reports: The researchers took data from listeners in 51 countries, making sure that their samples matched the demographics of each country but otherwise selecting users randomly. Using Spotify-provided data on the music, they tracked a variable they called music...

I grew up with a tape of Halloween music filled with such classics as The Monster Mash, Ghostbusters, I Put A Spell on You, Purple People Eater, Adams Family etc. Thanksgiving music though I'm admittedly less familiar with.

That music generation stuff we used to do was really fun. I've been meaning to look back at some of that stuff or write something new.
