Giving Back Entertainment http://GivingBackEntertainment.com Thank you for stopping by! Let us tell you about “Giving Back, Entertainment”. Based out of Lansing, Michigan- The Label was founded with one purpose: To help our local communities through music. Every song, album, or merchandise offered through Giving Back Entertainment goes to charitable causes such as winter clothing and food drives for children and the homeless. The foundation of Giving Back Entertainment ensures that it’s mission surpasses any personal interest. The music and the community will always come first. The Label let’s fans support good music while giving back to the community. Artists can put out music through our non-exclusive label, which acts a publishing and distribution company, to get their music on an official platform while supporting a cause with their music forever. Any official GBE show raises money directly through merchandise and ticket sales. How We Support
Currently all music sales and official merchandise goes towards OperationWarmth.org, a non-profit that makes winter coats for kids. They have an amazing product and great looking coats for boys and girls. We will be ordering these for our community in Lansing, Michigan as well as supporting kids in places far from our town. While supporting that, we are doing an on-going winter clothes drive for the homeless in our city. We accept coats, hats, gloves and more- provided they are in good condition. And canned goods! We take those too. Want to Get Involved? There are tons of ways to get involved and we need all the help we can get! If you donated and still want to do more we are in need of a few things. We are always looking for groups of do-gooders that we can help and any relief we can do in the area. We need graphic designers for releases and the website. We need producers who make sample-less beats to use for music. We need artists who already have songs (without samples) that would like to donate their music to the cause, we will publish the music through the label on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, etc. We need shows to fundraise at if you’re a venue. We need production for CDs, flyers, business cards, and more. If you are a clothing company, we would love to talk to you about helping provide winter clothes. If there is anything you can do to help us, even if it’s not listed above, please contact us and we will be in touch! Thanks! |

From zoning to labor to food safety to insurance, local food systems daily face a phalanx of regulatory hurdles designed and implemented to police industrial food models but which prejudicially wipe out the antidote: appropriate scaled local food systems. |

I think Michigan keeps you sane and on an even keel through the ups and downs. In Michigan, I do fireworks, shovel snow and live life. |

I'd love to interview Bill Clinton. I know that might be a little boring, but he's so interesting and such an amazing guy. All he's done after his presidency... he hasn't just sat around, he's been so active in so many charitable causes. |

Previous generations used to eat locally out of necessity. Without options like flash-freezing and worldwide export services, communities had to rely on local farms for all of their meals. In many ways, this was beneficial. People ate fresh, seasonal foods that were naturally flavorful and nutritious, and farmers and communities prospered. |

Every unskilled illegal immigrant who enters the United States for work drives up healthcare costs for every American. And, every illegal immigrant we turn a blind eye toward weakens the rule of law our country is founded on. |

Here's the irony in what I do: When I go out to eat, I like classic French food. I like amazing Japanese food that has such a history that it goes back hundreds of years. And I also like really innovative food as well. |

Despite all the hype about local or green food, the single biggest impediment to wider adoption is not research, programs, organizations, or networking. It is the demonizing and criminalizing of virtually all indigenous and heritage-based food practices. |

I don't think that my tongue-in-cheekness will ever go away. I guess it's just a part of my personality. I always want to keep some type of element of fun to the music as well. If one song is darker or talking about a sad subject, I don't want to make a whole album of that, of being a downer. I don't want to make a whole album of being too uppity. |

The first time I was homeless was when I went to Atlanta. I was in a homeless shelter, then when I got a job I used to miss the curfew for the shelter. So I ended up sleeping outside in the streets. |

All of my policy is not based on a label. It's based on what I lived and what I know. |

'In the Knowledge Economy, We Need a Netflix of Education'
When we want to acquire useful knowledge, we have to search the web broadly, find experts by word-of-mouth and troll through various poorly designed internal document sharing systems. This method is inefficient. There should be a better solution that helps users find what they need. Such a solution would adapt to the user's needs and learn how to make ongoing customized recommendations and suggestions through a truly interactive and impactful learning experience. Before Netflix, Spotify, Reddit and similar curated content apps, you had to go to numerous sources to find the shows, music, news and other media you wished to view. Now, the entertainment and media you actually want to consume is easily discoverable and personalized t...

This guy won the Loebner prize last year for having the most human-like chat bot. You can talk to it at mitsuku.com. It's pretty impressive. He has a page where he says he is giving away a prize to a winner of a Pacman tournament. I hacked the tournament to put me in first place, but I misread his page and thought he was giving away his Loebner medal, but it turns out he is giving away his t-shirt...

Last time it happened ABC news played fucking audio tapes from inside the kindergarten classroom as the shooting was taking place. Thats not educating or informing me about anything I didnt already know. Thats grisly entertainment for the sake of ratings and drama.

If you walk into a public place and shoot some white people theyll turn your crime into 24 hour entertainment and blast your name and picture over every channel for weeks. The media has provided you with a national venue to unload your insanity and anger and make the whole world feel as bad as you do.

MIT's A.I. Can Figure Out a Recipe By Looking at a Picture of Food
Scientists at MIT fed an intelligent machine one million recipes and 800,000 images of food, giving the program enough culinary-wisdom to deduce a recipe, just by looking at a photo of a snack or meal.

In the winter of 1835 and early 1836, two brothers from New York plotted the area now known as REO Town just south of downtown Lansing and named it "Biddle City". This land lay in a floodplain and was underwater during the majority of the year. Nevertheless, the brothers went back to Lansing, New York, to sell plots for the town that did not exist. They told the New Yorkers this new "city" had an area of 65 blocks, a church and a public and academic square. 16 men bought plots in the nonexistent city, and upon reaching the area later that year found they had been scammed. Many in the group too disappointed to stay ended up settling around what is now metropolitan Lansing. Those who stayed quickly renamed the area "Lansing Township" in honor of their home village in New York
