Probably has to do with how you think about numbers. It's not easy for everyone to remember phone numbers. Phone numbers are grouped into parts. You have an area code, then three digits, then four digits. You might have an association in your head for area codes. I know when I think of a friend I think of where they grew up and then I remember the area code, then I just have to remember 7 digits. From what I read about memory techniques, it's easier to remember if you have an image or association. You could do something like, assign a person, place, and action to each digit. Then in three digit groupings, if you have a number like 517, you could say 5 is the person 'Santa', 1 is the location 'the zoo' and 7 is 'eating a cake' and then you'd remember that image and be able to get the number back from your mapping. WAIT. I remember my third dream! It was because I woke up and thought about posting the first two on ThinkLynx. I dreamt that a bunch of people started using ThinkLynx again and wanted to delete all the weird stuff they posted in 2014.

Is anyone familiar with the psychology of numbers? Why is it that it's so easy for me to remember 7 or even 10 digit phone numbers for friends and relatives, but I can't remember the name of someone I met 5 seconds ago?

I had a dream that I was on this boat and for some reason, I was trying to get to this other boat with a bunch of people and we all had these little rafts. It started storming and the wind picked me and this other guy up and pushed us toward this shore. We couldn't go back out on the water and the storm kept throwing waves and other things ashore. I lost track of the other guy but I started climbing this tree. There are a bunch of them clustered together with branches wrapped around each other. I got creeped out because some of the branches looked like human hands and I thought people died in the trees. I kept climbing and eventually I got to a forest above the ground. I walked around for a bit and then looked at my surroundings. I couldn't see the water or anything below anymore. It just looked like a normal forest and I wondered if the other place was hell or something and then I woke up.

People write here about microplastics in the sea. I'll write about how I forgot my phone in the lost and found room. It all started a night before when I forgot my laptop charger in the law library. I was working with other students for Complexity homework. I was also stressed because of the AIDA project and this made me forget things and be very tired. I didn't even realize I forgot my charger until the end of the next day when my battery was low. The deadline for AIDA had just been pushed back again so I didn't need my laptop that night. Next morning I went to the law library, at the lost and found room to search for my charger. My excitement when I found it was so great that I didn't realize I left my phone on the desk there. Luckily, immediately after leaving the room I could sense that something was wrong. I felt incomplete without my phone. So, very embarrassed I turned back and faced the person in the room. She was amazed at how I left my phone in there after just recovering an...

I had a dream that Sherman hacked this site and tried to integrate it with his game. I also dreamt that I was on vacation and a bunch of people I knew were in nearby hotels. My parents were in one and they found out they were broke and I paid for the rest of their vacation.

One time I was walking down the sidewalk in Okemos and I saw an iPhone in the grass so I picked it up and it rang. I answered it and told the people that I had their phone and where I found it. They said they were 45 minutes away but they'd drive and come get it from me. I gave them the address of an abandoned house and told them to meet me there. This middle aged married couple showed up and gave me $20 dollars for the phone and thanked me and they acted so confused about how their phone ended up in Okemos. It sounded like they'd never even been there. Then I walked home.
