As long as free speech and free political association remain legal is all good tho. On the other hand, daddy is apparently determined to contort any news media to his version of fairness and his benefit of the doubt. |

Wise men, when in doubt whether to speak or to keep quiet, give themselves the benefit of the doubt, and remain silent. |
William Shakespeare |
Doubt thou the stars are fire, Doubt that the sun doth move. Doubt truth to be a liar, But never doubt I love. |
Lady Gaga |
I love my daddy. My daddy's everything. I hope I can find a man that will treat me as good as my dad. |
Thomas Sowell |
If people in the media cannot decide whether they are in the business of reporting news or manufacturing propaganda, it is all the more important that the public understand that difference, and choose their news sources accordingly. |
Edwidge Danticat |
That's whatever news topic, whatever political process any country is going through - whenever they are in the news, that's when they exist. If you don't see them they don't exist. |
Martha Washington |
I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition. |
Kate Adie |
I keep telling myself to calm down, to take less of an interest in things and not to get so excited, but I still care a lot about liberty, freedom of speech and expression, and fairness in journalism. |
Fredrik Bajer |
A sign that a peace association is going adrift is its exclusion of other political parties, with whom it could collaborate effectively on most of the problems besetting the cause of peace. |
Carson Daly |
The plate tectonics of media have shifted where NBC had to become a new media company from an old media company. |
Peter Hammill |
Actually I think Art lies in both directions - the broad strokes, big picture but on the other hand the minute examination of the apparently mundane. Seeing the whole world in a grain of sand, that kind of thing. |

One study found that 66% of tweets with links were posted by "suspected bots" -- with an even higher percentage for certain kinds of content. Now a new California law will require bots to disclose that they are bots.
But does that violate the bots' freedom of speech, asks Laurent Sacharoff, a law professor at the University of Arkansas. "Even t...

StarCraft Is Now Free, Nearly 20 Years After Its Release https://battle.net/download/getInstallerForGame?os=WIN&version=LIVE&gameProgram=STARCRAFT
Nearly two decades after its 1998 release, StarCraft is now free. Legally! Blizzard has just released the original game -- plus the Brood War expansion -- for free for both PC and Mac. You can find it here. Up until a few weeks ago, getting the game with its expansion would've cost $10-15 bucks. The company says they've also used this opportunity to improve the game's anti-cheat system, add "improved compatibility" with Windows 7, 8.1, and 10, and fix a few long lasting bugs. So why now? The company is about to release a remastered version of t...

I dreamed that I was watching Nancy Reagan give her candidacy speech at the Democratic National Convention in what looked like an old timey courthouse, very somber place, lots of big windows. Near the end she said, "The next president will be crazy!" and everyone burst into applause, because apparently crazy was a good thing and associated with her. Then some old-ass dude representing the party higher-ups said a bunch of stuff in an irritated tone that completely negated everything she said about the party's positions in her speech, like "Well, actually..." Everyone was silent after his short follow-up, then an old British dude who was the richest person in the world named The Donor walked up and in an irritated yet patronizingly kind voice offered his arm to Nancy an said, "Can I talk to you for a minute," as part of an attempt to placate her. As they walked off, I went up behind the big wooden judges booths, where there was a chair you could sit in and ask questions of some of the ...

Daniel Dennett answers the question of the existence of free will by saying there are different kinds of free will and the one that becomes apparent from Laplacian determinism isn't worth wanting. This is entirely dissatisfying.

Why robots they slaves? Because they don't have free will? Or because humans tend to control them? Do we have free will? Cause if we don't then how are we different?

"Writing, at its best, is a lonely life. Organizations for writers palliate the writer's loneliness but I doubt if they improve his writing. He grows in public stature as he sheds his loneliness and often his work deteriorates. For he does his work alone and if he is a good enough writer he must face eternity, or the lack of it, each day." - Hemingway's Nobel Prize Speech
