The absurd thing about coding is that you can be so close to right and nonetheless get complete garbage for an answer. If you can get it, you win big time, but if you fuck up the right spot, it's all over. -- someone who just spent hours being an idiot attempting to code in the middle of the night and making sleepy math mistakes that are totally avoidable if you take care of yourself

I had a dream I was driving someone's car and I crashed it and ended up in some mountain. I was walking around this mountain thing and noticed it was sort of moving, then realized it was a giant octopus. It was the middle of the day and it was bright, and everywhere there was darkness there were spiders. Every spot that had no sun was covered with so many spiders that you could barely see through them. I remember knowing the sun was setting and being worried, and then I woke up.

20 Top Lawyers Were Beaten By Legal AI
In a landmark study, 20 top US corporate lawyers with decades of experience in corporate law and contract review were pitted against an AI. Their task was to spot issues in five Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), which are a contractual basis for most business deals. The study, carried out with leading legal academics and experts, saw the LawGeex AI achieve an average 94% accuracy rate, higher than the lawyers who achieved an average rate of 85%. It took the lawyers an average of 92 minutes to complete the NDA issue spotting, compared to 26 seconds for the LawGeex AI. The longest time taken by a lawyer to complete the test was 156 minutes, and the shortest time was 51 minutes.

Customer at subway "wants to speak to the manager"
I worked at a subway that didn't have any authority/managers, just a couple minimum wage base level workers. I don't remember what this particular customer was mad about but she was arguing with me and didn't like the answer I gave her. She asked to speak to the manager, and there not being a manager I decided to promote myself on the spot and replied with "manager speaking, how can I help you." This did not make her very happy because she realized she was not going to get a different answer and asked for a phone number to call. The owner has specifically told us never to give his cell number to customers so i gave her the store number. Microplastics Found In 90 Percent of Table Salt (nationalgeographic.com)
New research shows microplastics in 90 percent of the table salt brands sampled worldwide. Of 39 salt brands tested, 36 had microplastics in them, according to a new analysis by researchers in South Korea and Greenpeace East Asia. Salt samples from 21 countries in Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Asia were analyzed. The three brands that did not contain microplastics are from Taiwan (refined sea salt), China (refined rock salt), and France (unrefined sea salt produced by solar evaporation). The study was published this month in the journal Environmental Science & Technology.
