you might have adhd if you: procrastinate peeing bc you don't want to get up, then after finally getting up you walk past the kitchen, think about ravioli, forget what you were doing, so you make yourself a five-course meal, eat it, and you remember you need to pee, but when you stand up and forget again, and then you see you nintendo switch over on the comfy couch so you sit down and play 2 days of stardew valley, but the whole time you feel anxious and irritated for some reason and you think it's because someone's talking when YOU'RE TRYING TO FOCUS on fixing up your farm, and then the person you just yelled at realizes the reason you yelled at them is absurd, so the person asks "do you need to pee or something?" And then you're like THANK YOU YES, THAT'S WHAT I GOT UP TO DO AN HOUR AGO AND ACCIDENTALLY MADE A FIVE-COURSE MEAL!!!

I don't disagree with that, and we did make an effort to be prompt in responding to questions on Piazza. The attitude was more the problem. It certainly wasn't everyone, but a small fraction of rude/entitled students in a 200+ person class is enough to be felt. They seemed to forget that we're also students and have other responsibilities as well.

Today I learned the term "body double" in ADHD contexts. It's a person who is nearby when you gotta do your work so you're less likely to forget what you're supposed to be doing and wander off to do something else.
Been using this strategy for a long time. Lots of people probs do that!

I'm working on the quotes thing. I think people should get some sort of points for commenting on other peoples thoughts. That way you don't just get points for posting stuff but you also get points for communicating with others.

Without a means of communicating (not necessarily internet) I think people in different regions would develop significantly differently. I can go to the other side of the world and find people that have seen the same news as me, are aware of the same advances in science and technology, and have some awareness of their culture. It'd be like having a bunch of little worlds on the same planet.

Not necessarily. Who is to say they have changed to be something different from what you are thinking about? Why do you think it is necessary to talk to a person for them to exist? Do you not already have an impression of this person from talking to them in the first place? Is anyone really what you think of them?

i realized i have trouble expressing myself due to my past experiences and the overwhelming nature of them. my dad left my mom 2 years after i was born. my brother has lived in japan for almost 10 years. my mom was wrongfully fired and unemployed for almost 2 years while i was in college, food stamps was a savior to us. I watched the 'plug being pulled' on my grandpa 3 years ago. watched my dog die and literally take his last breath a year later. my grandma died a few months ago.

I dreamed that I was watching Nancy Reagan give her candidacy speech at the Democratic National Convention in what looked like an old timey courthouse, very somber place, lots of big windows. Near the end she said, "The next president will be crazy!" and everyone burst into applause, because apparently crazy was a good thing and associated with her. Then some old-ass dude representing the party higher-ups said a bunch of stuff in an irritated tone that completely negated everything she said about the party's positions in her speech, like "Well, actually..." Everyone was silent after his short follow-up, then an old British dude who was the richest person in the world named The Donor walked up and in an irritated yet patronizingly kind voice offered his arm to Nancy an said, "Can I talk to you for a minute," as part of an attempt to placate her. I realizing how much the words of one person can bias the thoughts of another person. The random things that you say can affect a persons train of thought for an unknown amount of time in the future.
