Damn the great executives, the men of measured merriment, damn the men with careful smiles oh, damn their measured merriment. |

Detroit is drunken idiots. It was no surprise to me. I performed with Kenny Rogers for one year as his opening act, and I got to visit every major American city and notice the audience, and Detroit was one of the worst. |
Michael Imperioli |
'Detroit 1-8-7' - the numbers are police slang for murder - is filmed in that blue-collar Michigan city, providing a flavor of authenticity. Detroit offers a unique visual landscape that tells the story of the city and what it's been through. |
Jonathan Jackson |
Yeah... I like films, I like movies, I like playing different characters and working with different actors and filming in different places. I like movies because it's kind of a combination of every art: it's like, it's picture, it's story, it's music, it's kind of like a clash and a collide of every art. It's really neat. |

No one should negotiate their dreams. Dreams must be free to fly high. No government, no legislature, has a right to limit your dreams. You should never agree to surrender your dreams. |

WorldGate offers interactive set-top-box applications. Its customers want to interact with the Web as an adjunct to other things they can do, and WorldGate allows that through the layout engine in Mozilla, called Gecko. |
Bjarke Ingels |
My drawing skills probably froze around when I was 18... Now I'm more interested in the story, how the drawings, the layout can help express the stories and communicate them. |
J. G. Ballard |
The American Dream has run out of gas. The car has stopped. It no longer supplies the world with its images, its dreams, its fantasies. No more. It's over. It supplies the world with its nightmares now: the Kennedy assassination, Watergate, Vietnam. |
Johnny Depp |
If there's any message to my work, it is ultimately that it's OK to be different, that it's good to be different, that we should question ourselves before we pass judgment on someone who looks different, behaves different, talks different, is a different color. |

But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams. |

Hackers Stole 600 Gallons of Gas From Detroit Gas Station, Report Says
Police in Detroit are looking for two suspects who allegedly managed to hack a gas pump and steal over 600 gallons of gasoline, valued at about $1,800. From a report: The theft took place in the middle of the day and went on for about 90 minutes, with the gas station attendant unable to thwart the hackers. The theft, reported by Fox 2 Detroit, took place at around 1pm local time on June 23 at a Marathon gas station located about 15 minutes from downtown Detroit. At least 10 cars are believed to have benefitted from the free-flowing gas pump, which still has police befuddled. Here's what is known about the supposed hack...

Dubstep Music Found To Protect Against Mosquito Bites, Says Study (bbc.com)
According to a new study published in the journal Acta Tropica, listening to electronic music -- specifically dubstep, produced by U.S. artist Skrillex -- could protect against mosquito bites. The BBC reports: Sound is "crucial for reproduction, survival, and population maintenance of
many animals," says a team of international scientists specializing in mosquitoes and the diseases they carry. They subjected adults ...

The 90's are credited for a 'golden era' of hip hop. There is still so much intrinsically spiritual music from this era to discover. The whole world was in the thicket of a deeply introspective hip hop beat, and this culmination and amalgamation of hundreds of emcees deep in thought should rightfully be credited to the huge strides in hip hop's group consciousness at the time. If you listen to enough of the right material from this time, you can very clearly see the overlapping religious themes and feel the essence of what hip hop was at the time. Many of these artists unable to even come close to the styles they were delivering at the time. MCs all over the Americas were pulling fire right out of the ether for at least a solid few years.

I feel like I used to use music-induced mania to write code. That doesn't sound like a real thing but there were for sure kinds of music that were new to me that helped me code. All my music feels old and predictable now. It does not give the same effect.

What's the deal with Christmas music? People should play music for all of the holidays equally. Like, why aren't they playing Halloween music or Thanksgiving music? #everybodydeservestobeloved #endholidaydiscrimination

I had some weird dreams last night. In one of them I was on a planet with people from earth and we were in a different part of the universe where you could see all sorts of other galaxies in the sky and there were two that were colliding and they lit up the whole sky with all sorts of yellow and purpley colors. There was this girl that was taking pictures and video of the whole thing trying to document it. She was walking through fields of tall grasses and these plains that were filled with very shallow water that had waves about twice as high as the depth of the water, but still shorter than the average person. The dream kept switching between this girl and a completely different place in time where these unrecognizable creatures were speaking in a language I didn't understand about the collision of the two galaxies. There were one or two other dreams I had in different REM cycles and I don't remember them at the moment.
