Do we really need college? I don't think so. A kinda decentralized network of individual tutors + a culture that strongly promotes autodidacticism might be better.

Every computer is a finite state machine with a finite number of states on the order of 2^(amount of memory)
When you program, you aren't creating anything new, you're just choosing a starting state for the computer.

Millions of humans - like me - spend every day designing and building sprawling electron highways too large to comprehend, but only the size of a grain of sand. Are we, too, numbering in the billions, only transient noise in the circuitry of the cosmos?

I feel like everything but the core algorithms that drive a program is just meaningless, kinda arbitrary glue logic. There's very little real beauty there.

Is that why for every 1 system architect there are about 50 code monkeys?

Am I lazy, or are my standards just too high?
