I don't drink because I have a drunk personality? |

F. Scott Fitzgerald |
First you take a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes you. |
T. S. Eliot |
Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things. |
Guy Davenport |
Imagination is like the drunk man who lost his watch and must get drunk again to find it. |
George Burns |
It takes only one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or the fourteenth. |
Roger Ebert |
Why do alcoholics begin down the same hazardous road day after day? They are in search of that elusive window of well-being that opens when you drink your way out of a hangover and aren't yet drunk all over again. The alcoholic's day consists of trying to keep that window open. |
Sammy Hagar |
I've been drinking tequila for a long time now, and it's never been about drinking to get drunk. I don't do that. I never drink tequila during the day, and I don't drive at night. |
Lapo Elkann |
I am an obsessive personality. And if you are an obsessive personality, you need to be aware of it and be able to drive it with success. There are moments in your life when you are driving it well, but you shift and you shift badly and you hurt yourself. |
Paul Gascoigne |
But if I wasn't playing, I would drink Saturdays, then Sunday, then Monday. Then I would try and train and it was no good, then have another drink just to pass the day away. |
Anton Chekhov |
When you're thirsty and it seems that you could drink the entire ocean that's faith; when you start to drink and finish only a glass or two that's science. |
Omar Khayyam |
Drink! for you know not whence you came nor why: drink! for you know not why you go, nor where. |

That's interesting. In certain environments I find it very easy to adapt my personality accordingly. The arrogant will inherit the meek. Although, in seriousness, arrogance begets results, and I don't like to be sincerely mean, but I find it to be highly effective in quickly solving some interpersonal problems in certain arenas.

I had a dream that my friend and I were hanging out with Robin Williams. We both got into these separate cars and were driving up this hill. Robin Williams wanted to drive our car up the hill backward and I was telling him not to. He kept saying he didn't know how to drive this car. We got to the top but then he almost drove it off the edge of the hill. We got out of the car and then he fell anyway and died. Then my friend and I aged like 40 years suddenly and then we walked down the hill. We found these like, drunk 12-year-olds that wanted to fight us. They said "this isn't fair, you're not even drunk" and I said "yep" and then knocked him out and then my friend and I (now like 70 years old) just walked down the street in the middle of the night.

Well, it's really cool at first, and it's definitely a skill you can develop. You can get good at controlling your dreams, too (summoning new elements, or trying to render things differently (don't know how appropriate render is for word choice).
Exhibiting control is actually quite exhausting, ironically, and the in between stage (bad way to describe it) when you're on the verge of wakefulness and hanging on to a dream-state by a thread is quite an lonely, dark, barren, color-void space (not that there are very many colors in your dreams to begin with).
Personally, I feel it's much better...
