you're saying people ground themselves in others (relative) but they can be grounded in just life (non-relative) |

Rebecca Ferguson |
My family are too grounded, and I will go home to visit. I always need my dose of Liverpool to keep me grounded. |
Jim Rohn |
Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else's hands, but not you. |
Saint Ignatius |
Experience proves that in this life peace and satisfaction are had, not by the listless but by those who are fervent in God's service. And rightly so. For in their effort to overcome themselves and to rid themselves of self-love, they rid themselves of the roots of all passion and unrest. |
Mohsin Hamid |
I think the most effective forms of critique are ones that establish a common ground for people to occupy, and then appeal to the best nature of people on that common ground. |
DMX |
I can reach people the average person can't reach because I'm as grounded as I am. |
Tim Cahill |
New Orleans is 5 feet below sea level, which means that holes dug in the ground immediately fill with water. Coffins were punctured and sunk with weights, which didn't stop them from floating up out of the cemeteries and down the streets of the French Quarter on stormy nights. The solution was to bury people above ground, in what are called vaults. |
Zeljko Ivanek |
It's very juicy to twirl your mustache and figure out why people do the horrible things that they do. It's not just because they are evil, but because that's how they somehow explain the world to themselves and justify themselves. It's always interesting figuring out how that happens. |
Henry James |
Young men of this class never do anything for themselves that they can get other people to do for them, and it is the infatuation, the devotion, the superstition of others that keeps them going. These others in ninety-nine cases out of a hundred are women. |
Jefferson Han |
The funniest thing is that now I know what reverse spam is. You know you get spam from people saying, 'Can you invest in this or that?' People are now e-mailing me saying, 'Oh my God, can I invest in your company?' It's a reverse solicitation of money. |
Nicholson Baker |
Until a friend or relative has applied a particular proverb to your own life, or until you've watched him apply the proverb to his own life, it has no power to sway you. |

Sounds good to me. Along the lines of being grounded in a relative sense, I think you can develop notions of limitations which are really non-constructive. I think if you are ungrounded or grounded in a non-relative sense it doesn't feel that way. Or, it is more apparent that those limits don't exist. It's hard to be aware of things...

Humans need to ground their energy with a clear objective. Or else being lost in thoughts brings you to the ineffable why of everything and you will hurt. Most people ground themselves with the authority of others but if you've had enough experiences and/or time alone to begin thinking independently you will see the damage that societal authorities do and be antisocial and lost in your own analyses. Addiction and depression or extreme arrogance or maybe all three. Left with all your energy to ground by yourself, there is still no sovereignty when the design of the universe governs our drives and sets our limits. Our energy is already grounded by the callings of life itself. That is the real authority.

I had a dream where I was leading a group of people that I think I had known a long time ago to an apartment where some relative of mine lived. I think they wanted to kill my relative for some reason and they didn't know I was related to this person so I was pretending to be on the group's side. I knew that if I stopped leading this group to my relatives apartment they'd attack me too. So I led them almost to the apartment but then I had a chance to disappear when they weren't looking so I ran into some random building and I found a way to climb up the wall. I was trying to get into a corner and hide and wait until they all disappeared. Some military-looking vehicle passed by and people shined lights in the windows but no one could see me because I was high enough up.

the scene changes to someone who seems to be plotting something, kinda makes you suspicious, and you're like "who's this little trickster, and what's he so excited about?" so you're supposed to start getting that maybe clancy is about to have some bigger problems in her life real soon.
the dramatic irony!!!

Happens. Dreams are weird. I almost taught someone in real life last week but they didn't want to try on the ground.

Notions of limitations are the worst. I'm not sure what you mean by non-relative . It doesn't feel what way?

Paul's not interested in helping anyone understand what pu-erh is or what it really means. “I'd be thrilled for someone else to take that up,” he says. The innate vitality of the tea matters to him far more than the fluttering factual details we're trained to focus on as consumers. Drill too far down into that stuff, and soon “you're carrying around so much baggage that you're more focused on what something should be than what it actually is.
“I think people think about this stuff too much,” Paul goes on. “It's like trying to think about sex while you're having sex—can't you just enjoy the sex? If you ever try to describe a high to someone, the words always fall short.”

Carrots can be traced back about 5,000 years through historical documents and paintings. No one knows exactly when the first carrots appeared, because many people mistook them for parsnips, a close relative of the carrot.

also, a lot of people say one thing and mean another. (if you know what i mea ;)) ) ((nah idk what i mean)

Today I learned the term "body double" in ADHD contexts. It's a person who is nearby when you gotta do your work so you're less likely to forget what you're supposed to be doing and wander off to do something else.
Been using this strategy for a long time. Lots of people probs do that!
