Humans need to ground their energy with a clear objective. Or else being lost in thoughts brings you to the ineffable why of everything and you will hurt. Most people ground themselves with the authority of others but if you've had enough experiences and/or time alone to begin thinking independently you will see the damage that societal authorities do and be antisocial and lost in your own analyses. Addiction and depression or extreme arrogance or maybe all three. Left with all your energy to ground by yourself, there is still no sovereignty when the design of the universe governs our drives and sets our limits. Our energy is already grounded by the callings of life itself. That is the real authority. |

Frederick William Faber |
Kind thoughts are rarer than either kind words or deeds. They imply a great deal of thinking about others. This in itself is rare. But they also imply a great deal of thinking about others without the thoughts being criticisms. This is rarer still. |
Tony Campolo |
I'm not denying that depression can be spiritually induced. Guilt from having wronged and hurt others can bring it on. A sense of having failed to live out the will of God can give rise to depression. Certainly the fear of death and what might follow can sap the joy out of life. |
Chanakya |
A man is born alone and dies alone; and he experiences the good and bad consequences of his karma alone; and he goes alone to hell or the Supreme abode. |
Susan Cain |
Most people who have grown up introverted in this very extroverted culture of ours have had painful experiences of feeling like they are out of step with what's expected of them. Parenting can pose unique challenges for introverted parents, who fear that their own painful experiences will be repeated in their children's lives. |
Sylvia Earle |
Bottom trawling is a ghastly process that brings untold damage to sea beds that support ocean life. It's akin to using a bulldozer to catch a butterfly, destroying a whole ecosystem for the sake of a few pounds of protein. We wouldn't do this on land, so why do it in the oceans? |
Darell Hammond |
Toddlers need to get off the soccer field and onto the playground. Children need to get out of the gym and into neighborhood stickball games. We need to give kids room to create their own rules, set their own terms, and move their bodies in their own ways. |
Joyce Meyer |
When you begin to worry, go find something to do. Get busy being a blessing to someone; do something fruitful. Talking about your problem or sitting alone, thinking about it, does no good; it serves only to make you miserable. Above all else, remember that worrying is totally useless. Worrying will not solve your problem. |
Charlie Haden |
I want them to come away with discovering the music inside them. And not thinking about themselves as jazz musicians, but thinking about themselves as good human beings, striving to be a great person and maybe they'll become a great musician. |
Kim Campbell |
An increasing number of Canadians must juggle the demands of work with the need to care for children, or for family members who are ill or too frail to care for themselves. Our programs have simply not kept pace with these societal changes. |
Freddy Fender |
I'm a romantic, and we romantics are more sensitive to the way people feel. We love more, and we hurt more. When we're hurt, we hurt for a long time. |

Well also that life still requires that we ground ourselves with relationships with others bc the authority of human nature demands it. But if you are trying to live without conforming to others values it's it may make you more antisocial than is healthy

I think I had a dream that Arjun and I had wing suits and were flying around and I lost control of my wing suit and started spiraling toward the ground.

So I have a theory. There are 7 "Rays" of energy that ascended masters protect. With 5 more that were secret. 12 Rays. I immediately made the connection to the 12 zodiacs, 12 disciples, ad of course the number 13 with the extra "One" being the most high. But the second connection I drew was to the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World and the idea of the world grid. This connection (provided the ancient wonders are truly located on sources of unusual energy) would imply there are 5 other major locations of spiritual energy emanating from earth. Not to mention all but the pyramids are destroyed from the ancient wonders of the world with many of the original locations lost. Most of the spiritual monuments we see are built around astronomy and sun Rays shine through to specific spots on specific dates.

Despite common wisdom to the effect that money can?t buy happiness it is certain that many people believe that enough money could make them happier than they are. Many people squander huge amounts of time and energy, thinking about and trying to acquire money because of this belief. Even when they are reasonably well off, people often make increasing acquisition and control of money a higher priority than either self actualization or cultivation of relationships - leading to many of the personal and ...

People write here about microplastics in the sea. I'll write about how I forgot my phone in the lost and found room. It all started a night before when I forgot my laptop charger in the law library. I was working with other students for Complexity homework. I was also stressed because of the AIDA project and this made me forget things and be very tired. I didn't even realize I forgot my charger until the end of the next day when my battery was low. The deadline for AIDA had just been pushed back again so I didn't need my laptop that night. Next morning I went to the law library, at the lost and found room to search for my charger. My excitement when I found it was so great that I didn't realize I left my phone on the desk there. Luckily, immediately after leaving the room I could sense that something was wrong. I felt incomplete without my phone. So, very embarrassed I turned back and faced the person in the room. She was amazed at how I left my phone in there after just recovering an...

Everything seems to be an addiction in that we need to always be channeling our energy in life. I think we use only one stimulus sometimes bc we think it will provide permanence and it's so easy to find a flow with something you consume as opposed to generating substance yourself. But idk I'm addicted to explaining reality

I had a dream that I was on this boat and for some reason, I was trying to get to this other boat with a bunch of people and we all had these little rafts. It started storming and the wind picked me and this other guy up and pushed us toward this shore. We couldn't go back out on the water and the storm kept throwing waves and other things ashore. I lost track of the other guy but I started climbing this tree. There are a bunch of them clustered together with branches wrapped around each other. I got creeped out because some of the branches looked like human hands and I thought people died in the trees. I kept climbing and eventually I got to a forest above the ground. I walked around for a bit and then looked at my surroundings. I couldn't see the water or anything below anymore. It just looked like a normal forest and I wondered if the other place was hell or something and then I woke up.

Financially well-off and well-educated people will expend their time and energy (which they'll say is very valuable and precious given how financially well-off and well-educated they are) crafting arguments for why we should empathize with the likes of elon musk, rather than literally any group of people who have nothing.
Does this say anything about the limits of human empathy? Well-off and well-educated white people see themselves in the likes of elon musk, the point being that they can empathize with an *individual,* and one who has had significant media coverage and public discourse due to *perceived successes* they wouldn't mind attaining for themselves. The discourse is disproportionate; wealthy capitalists can spend money on ghostwriter projects and media that paint them to be a s...
