honestly one of my biggest takeaways from the past year is saying no to people and not letting people take advantage of my generosity. youre absolutely right, not everyone EARNS respect.
also, a lot of people say one thing and mean another. (if you know what i mea ;)) ) ((nah idk what i mean) |

Among the other values children should be taught are respect for others, beginning with the child's own parents and family; respect for the symbols of faith and the patriotic beliefs of others; respect for law and order; respect for the property of others; respect for authority. |

And I don't say that we didn't expect it, but we were pleasantly surprised to see the generosity of their foreign policy; and the generosity of their foreign policy at that moment was expressed through the Marshall Plan. |

I wasn't a bad kid. I was a good kid. But I had gotten in a lot of fights 'cause in the neighborhood I grew up in, that wasn't equated with bad behavior almost. I mean, we'd fought like it was another game. 'You wanna play stick ball today?' 'Nah, let's go fight.' |

By a great man, however, we mean a man who, because of his spiritual gifts, his character, and other qualities, deserves to be called great and who as a result earns the power to influence others. |

My parents didn't believe in luck. They believed in hard work and in preparing me to take advantage of opportunity. Like many parents, they taught me to be generous but never to depend on the generosity of others. |
Barbara Ehrenreich |
At best the family teaches the finest things human beings can learn from one another generosity and love. But it is also, all too often, where we learn nasty things like hate, rage and shame. |

The advantage of the consumer businesses is they tend to be much broader-based, much larger number of customers, that tend to over time be a lot more predictable. The advantage of the enterprise companies is they are not as subject to consumer trend, fad, behavior. |

Honestly, I just go to restaurants to eat so I won't die. If there was a pill I could take in January and then I wouldn't have to eat again for the rest of the year, I would take it. Of course, I wouldn't want to sacrifice my chocolate cake and ice cream. |

There seems to be one quality of mind which seems to be of special and extreme advantage in leading him to make discoveries. It was the power of never letting exceptions go unnoticed. |

The funniest thing is that now I know what reverse spam is. You know you get spam from people saying, 'Can you invest in this or that?' People are now e-mailing me saying, 'Oh my God, can I invest in your company?' It's a reverse solicitation of money. |

Everyone thinks their souls path applies to every other soul and ppl that deviate from their personal truth are invalid. Why can't people follow their inner guidance without needing everyone else to validate it? Meanwhile so many people preach unconditional love but only respect ppl with conditions similar to their own. Fuck all of us. <3

I don't know. It's hard to say. The architecture in my dreams is so interesting. I always imagine buildings that I think look really cool but when I wake up I know that they're completely impractical/impossible. Maybe the way that I interpreted it when I woke up made it look like it wasn't complete.
For the wolf thing, there was definitely a disinterest in the people in that park. Not being interested in what people were doing and wanting to wander off into nature.
None of the events in the dream reminded me of real people except when I was avoiding people it reminded me of my family. Maybe I w...

I think you shouldn't respect everyone. I think that I try to and that is good but it is not good to respect people who don't treat you well. There comes a point where it is unhealthy to listen to what they say.

How Facebook Keeps Messenger From Crashing On New Year's Eve
On New Year's Eve, millions of people will use Facebook's Messenger app to wish friends and family a 'Happy New Year!' If everything goes smoothly, those messages will reach recipients in fewer than 100 milliseconds, and life will go on. But if the service stalls or fails, a small team of software engineers based in the company's New York City office will have to answer for it.
The article says the team "tested and tweaked the app throughout the year and will soon face their biggest annual performance exam," since Messenger's 1.3...

I had a dream that there was a dollhouse or something and that people in the real world could be put in the dollhouse and they'd be like copies of the people. Inside the dollhouse, there were these giant slug things that would latch on to people and suck the life out of them. The people were trying to escape. They thought that they were the real people and didn't know that they were copies.

I think this probably works well for people who don't have ADHD as well. I've heard of people putting on videos of the inside of an office building and just seeing and hearing people in cubicles puts them in that mindset I guess.

After 43 years working in one of Japan's leading banks, 81-year-old Masako Wakamiya has launched an iPhone app called "Hinadan" that shows users how to stage traditional dolls for the Hinamatsuri festival. From a report on CNN Money: She says she felt compelled to do something after noticing a shortage of fun apps aimed at people her age. "We easily lose games when playing against young people, since our finger movements can't match their speed," Wakamiya told CNN. The retired banker asked a bunch of people to create games for seniors, but no one was interested. So she took matters into her own hands and achieved something many people half her age haven't done. "I wanted to create a fun app to get elderly people interested in smartphones," she said. "It took about half a year to develop." Wakamiya started using computers at age 60 when she was caring for her elderly mother and finding i...

I had a dream that Ben and I were at a restaurant and the place was getting robbed. People started shooting and we ran out of the restaurant and into a forest. Some people were chasing us (not the same people?) and we ran through the forest and out into a field that had long fences of different heights. We climbed the fences and tried to kick the people off as they followed behind us.

Interaction becomes so competitive. People mock each other like that is humor when it's really a way to lessen the intensity of the effect a person has on you. When someone reaches out, anything less than an equal return is a blow to your ego's importance. The more people recognize you, the less you need to try and win alliances so you can reject people who make you feel less sexy.

Another thing to keep in mind is that inner city school shootings happen every year that you never hear about. Ghetto people acting gangsta is old news and isnt exciting enough for the media to mention even if it does happen in a classroom. Only the terorist in suburbia angle is ripe for celebrity.
