I've also learned to no longer feel guilty if I'm invited out and don't want to go. If I start to say to myself, 'What's wrong with you that you're staying in five nights in a row to watch 'Forensic Files' instead of going out with your friends' I remind myself that it's what I need to do for myself at that point. |
John Irving |
Your memory is a monster; you forget - it doesn't. It simply files things away. It keeps things for you, or hides things from you - and summons them to your recall with a will of its own. You think you have a memory; but it has you! |

I think it's pretty obvious to most people that Napster is not media specific, but I could see a system like Napster evolving into something that allows users to locate and retrieve different types of data other than just MP3s or audio files. |

The Bureau doesn't have any secret files. |

It was as helpful as throwing a drowning man both ends of the rope. |

Before you speak ask yourself if what you are going to say is true, is kind, is necessary, is helpful. If the answer is no, maybe what you are about to say should be left unsaid. |
Clarence Darrow |
The best that we can do is to be kindly and helpful toward our friends and fellow passengers who are clinging to the same speck of dirt while we are drifting side by side to our common doom. |
Clifton Fadiman |
I think we must quote whenever we feel that the allusion is interesting or helpful or amusing. |
Dalai Lama |
Appearance is something absolute, but reality is not that way - everything is interdependent, not absolute. So that view is very helpful to maintain a peace of mind because the main destroyer of a peaceful mind is anger. |
George Eastman |
I don't believe in men waiting until they are ready to die before using any of their money for helpful purposes. |

Here is the kind of thing that bugs the crap out of me about Windows 8.
I just tried to open my recycling bin and delete the files. I opened the window and hit delete and the files disappeared. Then I hit ALT+F4 to close the window and I get a message that says "close the window and cancel file transfer?" What the hell?! The OS is scheduling the release of the file pointers or something which shouldn't take that long and it's telling me that it can't close the window because it's not done? But then if you hit the 'X' to close the window it works... Horrible design.

Since all the cool kids are doing it, I thought I'd join in. Last night I had a dream that I was having a therapy session, only my therapist was a friend of mine from high school. Other than that it was totally normal and actually really helpful. I guess I was too tired for symbolism and subtlety?

PewCrypt Ransomware Locks Users' Files and Won't Offer a Decryption Key Until - and Unless - PewDiePie's YouTube Channel Beats T-Series To Hit 100M Subscribers
The battle between PewDiePie, currently the most subscribed channel on YouTube, and T-Series, an Indian music label, continues to have strange repercussions. In recent months, as T-Series closes in on the gap to beat PewDiePie for the crown of the most subscribers on YouTube, alleged supporters of PewDiePie, in an unusual show of love, have hacked Chromecasts and printers to persuade victims to subscribe to PewDiePie's channel. Now ZDNet reports about a second strain of ransomware that is linked to PewDiePie. From the report: ...

I had a dream that there were storms all over earth all the time. It was like non-stop hail and high wind and rain and earthquakes. I was at my parent's house and their house was okay somehow but everyone had died except for me and the cats. My parents' spirits were possessing my cats and trying to help me survive but I didn't know it was my parents. I just thought my cats were really smart and helpful suddenly.

And she refuses to send me all the files I need at once so every 15 minutes I have to swap a USB drive with her. I want to know how often she washes her hands.

As the plot unfolds, it becomes clear that Elliot hacks and doxes the people in his life (including himself), then stores the information he finds onto CDs. He then labels them with some classic band label.
Many have wondered why he'd be doing that and how safe would that be?
The answer is that Eliot is hiding the data on those CDs. He is actually copying music to those CDs, then embedding encrypted information on them that only he can recover. So anyone who finds them will see and hear only audio and will be unable to find or retrieve the hidden information. In this way, Elliot's data on h...
