Gilbert K. Chesterton |
The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective. |
Danny Elfman |
I really liked doing a number of the projects and directors, and etc., etc., I knew about half-way through that I would never be doing that again. It's just not me. I really am happy as a part-time film composer, not a full-time film composer. |
Gina Carano |
Fighting is my career, it's what I love to do, but I am taking offers and trying to expand because the more I expand myself, the more valuable I become to promoters. |
Swami Vivekananda |
Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success. |
Alber Elbaz |
If you take something out of the freezer, it's cold, but what happens when it melts? It's a cool party, a cool person, a cool collection. What does that mean? I'm more interested in things that are uncool, things that have a certain individuality, a certain soul, a certain longevity, emotion, fragility. |
Laura Innes |
Our intention is to really explore this transition and, beyond that, explore the particular things that someone comes up against when they're gay or lesbian. |
Robert Ballard |
If you compare NASA's annual budget to explore the heavens, that one year budget would fund NOAA's budget to explore the oceans for 1,600 years. |
Bo Bennett |
Enthusiasm is not the same as just being excited. One gets excited about going on a roller coaster. One becomes enthusiastic about creating and building a roller coaster. |
Candice Accola |
I love Amy Adams. She is wonderful. Evan Rachel Wood is a blast. I am also really excited about Ari Graynor from 'Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist' and 'American Crime.' I think it is an exciting time for young women in this industry. I am excited to make my own path. |
Britt Robertson |
I remember the moment that I realized that I was going to get the opportunity to be in my dream role, and I said, 'I just don't think life gets any better!' You have to take that moment and expand it for as long as possible because it's such a cool feeling. |

I'm so pumped about the new Related Quotes feature.

This is a really cool idea but I wonder if there isn't usually an easier way to get data from an infected computer given that you have the chance to install malware.

Sometimes I'm so busy hating school that I forget about how cool everything I'm learning is. I just had a moment where I thought to myself, "UGH I should start reading this damn paper to prepare for my proposal. DAMNIT." And then I started reading it and I realized, "Oh, man, this is awesome! What a great idea!"

I'm thinking about how cool it would be to be able to draw graphs and stuff and put them in posts on here but I don't know how to do that effectively. I liked the idea of not hosting the images and just AJAX loading the images on pageload when there are links in the post but this apparently doesn't work because of the same-origin policy which exists to prevent some security issues.

I am intrigued by this idea of hiding the fairy from your family. As for "not being interested in what people were doing and wanting to wander off into nature," I definitely got that from your description of the dream (combined with knowing you and hearing you talk about feeling that way). It sounds lonely. I'm glad the wolf reached out to you.
The architecture thing reminds me of the cool ideas you have about projects (research, ThinkLynx, etc.). But also your frustration when it feels like impracticalities or other things stand in the way of making those things come to fruition.

Probably has to do with how you think about numbers. It's not easy for everyone to remember phone numbers. Phone numbers are grouped into parts. You have an area code, then three digits, then four digits. You might have an association in your head for area codes. I know when I think of a friend I think of where they grew up and then I remember the area code, then I just have to remember 7 digits. From what I read about memory techniques, it's easier to remember if you have an image or association. You could do something like, assign a person, place, and action to each digit. Then in three digit groupings, if you have a number like 517, you could say 5 is the person 'Santa', 1 is the location 'the zoo' and 7 is 'eating a cake' and then you'd remember that image and be able to get the number back from your mapping. There are lots of tricks like this for names, numbers, etc. I think people probably subconsciously develop some sort of less complicated representations and certain things ar...

I had a dream that I was on some kind of bus but the inside looked like a large bedroom and someone I used to know was in there with a stack of everyone's diaries and was super excited to read them out loud to everyone during the bus ride.
