Mahatma Gandhi |
You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty. |
Joyce Meyer |
Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don't see what goes on underground - as they grow roots. Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don't see the roots. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like the roots of a tree. |
Robert Indiana |
Some people like to paint trees. I like to paint love. I find it more meaningful than painting trees. |
Robert Jackson |
The places that are most likely to grow trees for carbon sequestration are places where trees aren't growing now. |

Ralph Lemon is my idol. But music is my biggest passion. Frank Ocean's 'Pyramids' is on repeat. That kind of stuff with Frank Ocean makes me cry. |
Mother Teresa |
We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop. |
Robert Ballard |
Well, when I was a kid, I grew up in San Diego next to the ocean. The ocean was my friend - my best friend. |
Steven Wright |
Sponges grow in the ocean. That just kills me. I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be if that didn't happen. |
Sylvia Earle |
Why is it that scuba divers and surfers are some of the strongest advocates of ocean conservation? Because they've spent time in and around the ocean, and they've personally seen the beauty, the fragility, and even the degradation of our planet's blue heart. |
Sylvia Earle |
Sharks are beautiful animals, and if you're lucky enough to see lots of them, that means that you're in a healthy ocean. You should be afraid if you are in the ocean and don't see sharks. |

I think religion is like a lifeboat floating in the ocean. If it's the thing you know, it is overwhelming to think about leaving it and seeing what else is out there. The ocean is mysterious and full of wonderful interesting unknowns. Swimming takes effort, but without it, all you see is the lifeboat and the surface.

I had a dream that my roommate and I were in a neighborhood that had a lot of big trees with long branches. I were standing by some of the trees and realized that they were covered in huge caterpillars that were probably 3+ ft long. It was surprising because they camouflaged so well for how huge they were.

I had a dream that I was climbing around what seemed like a mix of a climbing gym and a playground structure for kids. It was bigger than some houses. I was following this guy who said he had chosen me to move into the house (play structure?) and I was like "oh... okay". I moved in and suddenly I had a kid or something and I told it to go outside and clean something but it was afraid of the white noise in the wind and the leaves in the trees outside. It was getting dark and I was trying to explain that the trees didn't want to hurt the kid but he didn't get it.

If a tree falls in the forest, does it also fall in the ocean?

Great news for Celine Dion fans and James Cameron enthusiasts: The Titanic is set to sail again. From a report:

In real life, of course, I totally support your decision to climb trees to escape from lobster people.

Secret Idea: make a ecosia home (not google) that works better (which should be pretty straightforward) and then everyone uses it cause it's better and then trees save the world.

Buffy Summers: I walk. I talk. I shop. I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out, and I don't sleep on a bed of bones.

'Great Dying': Rapid Warming Caused Largest Extinction Event Ever, Report Says (theguardian.com)
Rapid global warming caused the largest extinction event in the Earth's history, which wiped out the vast majority of marine and terrestrial animals on the planet, scientists have found. The mass extinction, known as the "great dying," occurred around 252m years ago and marked the end of the Permian geologic period. The study of sediments and fossilized creatures show the event was the single greatest calamity ever to befall life on Earth, eclipsing even the extinction of the dinosaurs 65m years ago. Up to 96% of all marine species perished while more than two-thirds of terrestrial species disappeared. The cataclysm was so severe it wiped out most of the planet's trees, insects, plants, liza...
