It's healthy to have older friends. You go, 'Look, I'm younger than them!' That's always the nice thing, if you can be the youngest one in the room at times. Like if you're always the oldest one in the room, you'll start to feel like the oldest person in the world. So get older friends, because they're cool. Get cool older friends. |

I think great songs appeal to people at any age. Kids love the Beatles, too. Kids love Tom T. Hall. Of course, Tom T. wrote some things that were specifically for kids. But I think kids recognize quality more than they get credit for sometimes. |

If you take something out of the freezer, it's cold, but what happens when it melts? It's a cool party, a cool person, a cool collection. What does that mean? I'm more interested in things that are uncool, things that have a certain individuality, a certain soul, a certain longevity, emotion, fragility. |

The Italian word 'stanza' means 'a room', and a room is a good way to conceive of a stanza. A room, generally speaking, is sufficient for its own purposes, but it does not constitute a house. A stanza has the same sense of containment, without being complete or independent. |

My cousins gay, he went to London only to find out that Big Ben was a clock. |

Ben was more improvisational, and relied less on methodology, and basically is a guitarist who switched to bass, whereas Jeff has a more traditional approach to playing bass in a band, and has a great sense of what his band sounds like, and we lock up nicely. |

I think acting is a gift. I look at someone like Ben Kingsley, and he's incredibly charismatic, even when he's not acting. He's an incredibly hard worker, and he has a very specific system that he does with his work. |

Charles Darwin and I and you broke off from the family tree from chimpanzees about five million years ago. They're still our closest genetic kin. We share 98.8 percent of the genes. We share more genes with them than zebras do with horses. And we're also their closest cousin. They have more genetic relation to us than to gorillas. |

President Reagan achieved such successes because when you sat in a room with him, there could be over 1,000 people in the room, yet you felt like there was only the two of you, and his wonderful wit would put you at ease. That was a tremendous gift. |

Whether it's golf or writing, you have friends, and then you have 'friends' friends. Friends who are like family. I can count my close friends on two hands, which is good, I think. That's a lot. Some are at home in Spain, others are elsewhere, and some are in golf. |

"Marriage is not a synonym for monogamy any more than monogamy is a synonym for ideal love. To live lightly on the earth, lovers and families must be more flexible and relaxed. The ritual of sex releases its magic inside or outside the marital bond. I approach that ritual with as much humility as possible and perform it whenever it seems appropriate. As for John Paul and me, a strange spurt of semen is not going to wash our love away.?
lol I just thought this was well explained

Something that is hard to reconcile is the experience of impersonal and personal love. Nature is very impersonal, and affection is very personal. I think often we confuse affection with love. We create exclusive relationships with others that often get overrided by our natural instincts- maybe a loving relationship is sabotaged bc someone ?fitter? in many ways came along and appealed to you as an animal. And then we say ?I thought we loved each other!? People use affection to justify all sorts of sacrifices and nature to justify all sorts of cruelty. Still, the world goes round and love exists on both a personal and impersonal level. You love your sister and you love the atoms which make up your sister which also make up the table in your kitchen and your worst enemy. And you experience that love by the same source that also allows you to evaluate which people and activities are worth your energy and which you reject. I don?t think reality is a matter of love vs. nature- - I don?t thi...

So this is what happens guys. It's a romance comedy. It's a movie about a guy. Hes a plant. Not like a cactus. Hes a planted actor on a reality TV show like love is blind where they are supposed to fall in love and get married. Hes just goofin around but he actually falls in love with one of them. Then the one of them at some point figures out that hes a plant and shes like "did you ever even love me!? you were only in it for the money!" and he says "it started out that way but then I wanted to know the real you. I liked being at that tiki bar and I liked stirrin up stupid stuff. even though it was fake it was real." and then they smooch in the rain.

okay, so the first number is going to be about how Chancy really wants these poptarts but in the song she's revealing that she really wants a relationship with her hot priest roommate. because symbolism. no actually it's because they hooked up a couple times but never really acknowledge that fact, and they carry on as good friends the same as normal, which chancy appreciates, but she also feels like she knows the priest thinks about how they have hooked up and carry-on as normal without acknowledging it, and that feels very...interesting.
She interrupts this verse with like a chorus about wanting the poptarts. and you're (chorus members) just like "why does she want these poptarts so bad and why is this so weirdly important for her," ...

My life led up to that moment for sure, a lot of the things I thought and found through contemplation and studying. Basically we needed top get rid of a waterbed so this guy called us from craigslist and i helped him take it apart and load it and he kinda felt prompted to ask me my thoughts on the subject which is obviously a loaded topic for a stranger but he was chill and it wasnt like those aggressive people who tell everybody this shit but anyway just through our conversation he was talking about having been in prison and got saved and healed someone who was dying and that god speaks through him. my neighbor always tried to talk to me about this shit my whole life and i pretty much tuned him out and thought my idea was more correct but this other guy was a bit differnt. but it really has nothing to do with this guy. one of things that happened is i couldnt think of a certain word and once i got in my car and thought about the conversation and asking the world, god, what is the nam...

Dream last night:
Was in a zoom call, presenting some stuff that I was being evaluated on. I discovered in my dream that I really like geometry and wish I knew some physics shit. I felt like I knew what I was talking about in my presentation about something like the physics of things with different geometric properties. Would be cool if I was actually on to something in real life. I do remember being in a light car chase scene, nothing too serious, it was more like a mario cart race and I was having one of those meme moments with the person calculating a bunch of shit in their mind, and that had something to do with this geometric genius I was presenting.
