Note on point 7: It actually seems like it's not overwriting the survey. It's making a new survey with the same name. Then you can delete the older one. |

You can't delete racism. It's like a cigarette. You can't stop smoking if you don't want to, and you can't stop racism if people don't want to. But I'll do everything I can to help. |
Gilbert K. Chesterton |
The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective. |
Paul Feig |
It's healthy to have older friends. You go, 'Look, I'm younger than them!' That's always the nice thing, if you can be the youngest one in the room at times. Like if you're always the oldest one in the room, you'll start to feel like the oldest person in the world. So get older friends, because they're cool. Get cool older friends. |

I would get records by Earl Scruggs... I would tune my banjo down and I'd pick out the songs note by note. Learned how to play that way. I persevered. There was a book written by Pete Seeger, who showed you some basic strumming and some basic picking... And I kind of worked out my own style of playing. |

I have a 2-year-old son, and I know I'm dealing with a big, grand word when I can't point to the thing when I define it. Right? If he wants to know what a chair is, I can point to the chair. If he wants to know what religion is, I can't point to anything in particular. The same is true of the state. |
Maya Angelou |
The thing to do, it seems to me, is to prepare yourself so you can be a rainbow in somebody else's cloud. Somebody who may not look like you. May not call God the same name you call God - if they call God at all. I may not dance your dances or speak your language. But be a blessing to somebody. That's what I think. |
Marilyn Manson |
Marilyn Monroe wasn't even her real name, Charles Manson isn't his real name, and now, I'm taking that to be my real name. But what's real? You can't find the truth, you just pick the lie you like the best. |
Scott Ian |
My grandfather was Orthodox, and he was religious, but neither of my parents were. Of course, as they got older, it seems like they get more religious the older they get, even though they're still not practicing Jews. |
Neil Gaiman |
I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something. |
Malcolm X |
The real names of our people were destroyed during slavery. The last name of my forefathers was taken from them when they were brought to America and made slaves, and then the name of the slave master was given, which we refuse, we reject that name today and refuse it. I never acknowledge it whatsoever. |

So I have to ask companies I worked for in the USA for letters verifying my employment. I emailed several HR departments and was surprised that all responded within ~30 minutes, except for Apple
Every other company had my letter ready and emailed it to me. Apple took almost a week, then they sent me an email that spelled my name wrong and asked for my employee ID and the last 4 digits of my SSN
I have NO IDEA what my employee ID was, so I said that and eventually they sent me back a link to a PDF that I needed. THEN they sent me another email with a survey to ask how they did ...

Qualtrics doesn't let you force a response on all questions. Pretty lame, right? What am I supposed to do when I generate a survey for crowd-sourcing but I don't want to manually go through hundreds of questions to add validation?
Well, here is the hacky solution. 1. Set validation on one question. 2. Export the survey. This downloads the survey as a QSF file. 3. Open QSF file in a text editor and find the validation you set for that one question. ...

Another psychological approach to understanding people?s involvement with money was offered in a financial magazine. This article (Sullivan, 1994) presented a classification of money personalities based on a survey of 2,000 people?s ?inner financial life.? It divided people into seven personality classifications as follows: 1) Hunters, who are characterized by an aggressive attitude toward the making spending and investing of money and who tend to have unsettled personal lives and a higher than average ...

Here is the kind of thing that bugs the crap out of me about Windows 8.
I just tried to open my recycling bin and delete the files. I opened the window and hit delete and the files disappeared. Then I hit ALT+F4 to close the window and I get a message that says "close the window and cancel file transfer?" What the hell?! The OS is scheduling the release of the file pointers or something which shouldn't take that long and it's telling me that it can't close the window because it's not done? But then if you hit the 'X' to close the window it works... Horrible design.

so just woke up from a dream. i was on a military compound but it seemed like apartments. i was joining the military but ended up deciding to quit with 2 other guys. we kinda snuck out. this apartment was also kind of a hotel. a place ive been before in dream world. i found myself in the middle of a city with a low position trying to get away from where i was to somewhere familiar. recognized the cross streets in this shitty metropolis. noticed snipers in the windows and a lot of police. wasnt worried but wanted to leave the area so we didnt get sniped on accident. then i got a call from the gobernment saying the guy i was with was very bad and was planning something but they didnt say what. they said to not help him and stop him at any cost. found myself surveying the area with this guy, forgetting he was bad, then i got a telepathic call reminding me that he was bad so i soty of sabotaged his survey while we were in a tree in my old babysitter / family friend / very religious groups...

'We Can't Compete': Universities Are Losing Their Best AI Scientists
The Guardian shares the story of a PhD student at Imperial College London who abruptly stopped coming to the facility, even as he had one-year of studies left. From the story: Eventually, the professor called him. He had left for a six-figure salary at Apple. "He was offered such a huge amount of money that he simply stopped everything and left," said Maja Pantic, professor of affective and behavioural computing at Imperial. "It's five times the salary I can offer. It's unbelievable. We cannot compete." It is not an isolat...
