The Wisdom of don Juan The sorcerer, nagual, who was known as don Juan to Carlos Castaneda, was a Yaqui Indian who carried on an ancient Mexican line of sorcery and shamanism. Carlos Castaneda wrote many best-selling books about his experiences with don Juan Matus. Always profound, don Juan continuously pointed the way to opening our eyes. When nothing is for sure we remain alert, perennially on our toes. It is more exciting not to know which bush the rabbit is hiding behind than to behave as though we knew everything.
-From Journey to Ixtlan As long as a man feels that he is the most important thing in the world, he cannot really appreciate the world around him. He is like a horse with blinders; all he sees is himself, apart from everything else.
-From Journey to Ixtlan Whenever a warrior decides to do something, he must go all the way, but he must take responsibility for what he does. No matter what he does, he must know first why he is doing it, and then he must proceed with his actions without having doubts or remorse about them.

The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of those depths. |

I'm very intrigued by e-books, the topic du jour in the industry today. As a number one bestselling Kindle author, I love the way e-books make an author's backlist accessible to new readers. Of course, price point remains a source of concern. Personally, I don't have any of the answers, but I'm intrigued by the questions. |

The stakes are high on every film now because there's the opening weekend. The first week is extremely crucial; increasingly, films are being judged in terms of opening day, opening weekend, then first week. People are going berserk promoting their films. |

The world has today 546 nuclear plants generating electricity. Their experience is being continuously researched, and feedback should be provided to all. Nuclear scientists have to interact with the people of the nation, and academic institutions continuously update nuclear power generation technology and safety. |

I don't write down my experiences, but I have a very decent memory. I have tons of books in which I write down phrases as they occur to me. That's how I write songs. I'll need a line and I'll go through the books and find it, the right rhyme and everything. |

In my dreams and visions, I seemed to see a line, and on the other side of that line were green fields, and lovely flowers, and beautiful white ladies, who stretched out their arms to me over the line, but I couldn't reach them no-how. I always fell before I got to the line. |

I didn't have the money to put myself through drama school, so I thought - naively - that if I wrote a play and put it on at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, agents would see me and that would be my ticket to Hollywood. I wrote a musical; an acting coach saw it and put me on his course for free while I wrote for his company. |

Of course, there's no reason that Paris should have decent Mexican food. It's a silly expectation - there's a Mexican population in Paris, but they're not exactly traveling there from across the border. Paris also doesn't do Peruvian all that well, either. |

I think the shyness one feels in childhood is often overcome with time. There are children who hide behind their parents' legs, but you don't see grown-ups hiding behind people. It just doesn't happen. I mean, not that often. People develop social skills over time. |

In the name of the United States and President Bush, I want to thank the Mexican people, President Fox and his government for their friendship. |

Over the past twenty years, I have written a series of books about my apprenticeship with a Mexican Yaqui Indian sorcerer, don Juan Matus. I have explained in those books that he taught me sorcery but not as we understand sorcery in the context of our daily world: the use of supernatural powers over others, or the calling of spirits through charms, spells, or rituals to produce supernatural effec...

In our conversations, don Juan consistently used or referred to the phrase "man of knowledge", but never explained what he meant by it. I asked him about it. "A man of knowledge is one who has followed truthfully the hardships of learning," he said. "A man who has, without rushing or without faltering, gone as far as he can in unraveling the secrets of power and knowledge." "Can anyone be a man of knowledge?" "No, not anyone." ...

King Solomon is one of the central Biblical figures in Jewish heritage that have lasting religious, national and political aspects. As the builder of the First Temple in Jerusalem and last ruler of the united Kingdom of Israel before its division into the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah, Solomon is associated with the peak "golden age" of the independent Kingdom of Israel as well as a source of judicial and religious wisdom. According to Jewish tradition, King Solomon wrote three books of the Bible:
Mishlei (Book of Proverbs), a collection of fables and wisdom of life Kohelet (Ecclesiastes), a book of contemplation and his self-reflection. ...

Wow. Dawkins has some scathing remarks for hackers in one of his books. He wrote them almost 30 years ago and I know hacking has evolved but I imagine back then they still had more diverse motivations than Dawkins seems to be aware of.

Tao (The Way) that can be spoken of is not the Cons tant Tao’ The name that can be named is not a Constant Name. Nameless, is the origin of Heaven and Earth; The named is the Mother of all things. Thus, the constant void enables one to observe the true essence. The constant being enables one ...

So I have a theory. There are 7 "Rays" of energy that ascended masters protect. With 5 more that were secret. 12 Rays. I immediately made the connection to the 12 zodiacs, 12 disciples, ad of course the number 13 with the extra "One" being the most high. But the second connection I drew was to the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World and the idea of the world grid. This connection (provided the ancient wonders are truly located on sources of unusual energy) would imply there are 5 other major locations of spiritual energy emanating from earth. Not to mention all but the pyramids are destroyed from the ancient wonders of the world with many of the original locations lost. Most of the spiritual monuments we see are built around astronomy and sun Rays shine through to specific spots on specific dates.

the old captchas where you typed in strange words were part of a larger book translation scheme. you were typing in what you thought these physical books words were and it compared them to their data or other peoples data to decipher them in pieces. i thought this was for google books but not sure
