Mystery of Sonic Weapon Attacks At US Embassy In Cuba Deepens
The blaring, grinding noise jolted the American diplomat from his bed in a Havana hotel. He moved just a few feet, and there was silence. He climbed back into bed. Inexplicably, the agonizing sound hit him again. It was as if he'd walked through some invisible wall cutting straight through his room. Soon came the hearing loss, and the speech problems, symptoms both similar and altogether different from others among at least 21 U.S. victims in an astonishing international mystery still unfolding in Cuba. The top U.S. diplomat has called them "health attacks." New details learned by the Associated Press indicate at least some of the incidents were confined to specific rooms or even parts of rooms with laser-like specificity, baffling U.S. officials who say the facts and the physics don't add up.
Suspicion initially focused on a sonic weapon, and on the Cubans. Yet the diagnosis of mild brain injury, considered unlikely to result from sound, has confounded the FBI, the state department and U.S. intelligence agencies involved in the investigation. Some victims now have problems concentrating or recalling specific words, several officials said, the latest signs of more serious damage than the U.S. government initially realized. The United States first acknowledged the attacks in August -- nine months after symptoms were first reported. |

One of my favorite places I've visited is Havana, Cuba. On my way home from Costa Rica, I did a week in Havana. The colors, the music, the beautiful men and the cars! I love vintage and antique cars and own a couple myself. |

What do we know about autism in 2013? Autism symptoms generally emerge before age three and usually much earlier, often as language delays or lack of social engagement. Recent research suggests that autism can be detected during the first year of life, even before classic symptoms emerge. Indeed, the symptoms may be a late stage of autism. |

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls. |

Both my parents came with their parents during the revolution in Cuba. Both my parents were born in Cuba. They left everything over there. My family got stripped of everything - of their land, of their jobs, everything. |

Cuba is like going to a whole other planet. It's so different but it's so similar to the United States, to Miami. It's like a doppelgaenger. It's the mirror image. And I have no doubt, that once Cuba becomes democratic, that it will be the favorite tourist destination for Americans. |

Even when I was at CIA, I'd go to visit foreign leaders and I'd say, 'You know, I'm not a diplomat. I'm just an old CIA guy'... I said, 'If I wanted to be diplomatic, I'd have been a diplomat.' |

I think that I've tried many times to get Cuba in my writings, especially Havana, which was once a great and fascinating city. |

Eve was not taken out of Adam's head to top him, neither out of his feet to be trampled on by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected by him, and near his heart to be loved by him. |

My feet ain't got nothing to do with my nickname, but when folks get it in their heads that a feller's got big feet, soon the feet start looking big. |

I have walked into the palaces of kings and queens and into the houses of presidents. And much more. But I could not walk into a hotel in America and get a cup of coffee, and that made me mad. |

Was a Sonic Weapon Deployed in Cuba?
Hearing loss, dizziness, sleep and vision problems, tinnitus, headaches, fatigue and now brain damage—these are the symptoms suffered by two dozen US and Canadian diplomats covertly attacked over the past year while serving in Cuba. US officials initially posited that the diplomats were victims of some sort of sonic weapon, but acoustics experts say that’s nearly impossible.
Details of the attacks have slowly become public over the last few months through a combination of media reports and announcements from US officials. Many details are still unclear....

I had a dream that my friends were at my parent's house for a party I was throwing. I was really busy so I was downstairs working on something on my computer but they were all upstairs in this tiny room that had three beds in it. They were laying there talking. I came up once to see how they were doing and they tried to make me play heads-up-7up, but I told them I didn't like that game and I didn't know how to play and I left. They thought my reaction was funny and went back to what they were doing. Downstairs I was working and drinking a huge strawberry milkshake.
One of my friends was leaving and I heard her go out the front door so I went to follow her to say bye. She went out and I couldn't find shoes so I went out barefoot. She didn't see me at all and got in her car. I was going af...

I had a dream that I was walking in a forest by a river with Shermz and Meghan. Meghan was telling me not to climb the trees but I really wanted to and I did. They had very few branches near the ground but became very dense if you climbed twenty or so feet. They were dense enough that you could basically walk around on the branches. I climbed down and saw some lobsters. One of the lobsters was gigantic, about as big as my body. It started having a seizure and I was for some reason concerned that the thing causing it to have a seizure could also cause me to have a seizure and I climbed a tree and ran away.

I like the sound of really loud electromagnets and sex. I like hearing people yell poetry angrily over the sound of old crushed up magnets disrupting a voltage.

I had a dream that I followed some girl into an apartment and I was talking to her and she was saying some things that sounded like English but didn't make any sense. She was going through the fridge and then walked into a bedroom. I followed her and then I realized that she was a robot version of a girl I use to know. For some reason this then made it obvious to me that the not robot version of her also lived in the apartment. Then the dream got weird. I snuck into the other room when it was dark and the real girl and some dude were there. The girl couldn't see me but I kept moving around and making noise enough that the guy thought someone else was in the room, but the girl didn't notice. It was like I was purposely trying to freak out this guy. Eventually they both realized someone was there and I ran away. They didn't find me.

An idea that came from lots of caffeine and appeared to sort of work when I tried it. When alone, with no distractions, try to think of random and creative things. You will soon notice a sort of limitation to the form and rapidity that these things have and come into your mind. At that point, consciously choose to stop and think more outside of the box, with broader shapes and ideas. Feel out the edges of where this new approach can take you and you will soon encounter another wall of sorts past which your mind isn't really creative enough to go. At this point, again consciously stop imagining strange things and focus entirely on your senses and spatial awareness. For me I noticed that by trying to push the limits of the inside of my head I felt a noticeable difference in the way I percieved the "real" world. I felt as though the space my body and mind occupy have been given more room, more fresh air, more fluidity. This was especially noticeable with my hearing, which seemed much sha...

In more detail: I dreamt I was in a car with a bunch of people that I knew and someone else was driving. I was in the back seat and we were turning on a road on the edge of a cliff. The car broke through the guard rail and fell a few stories. I felt a lapse in consciousness and regained it realizing something was jammed through my shoulder. It hurt and I was bleeding but I was thankful that it didn't pierce any of my major organs. Someone else in the car was moving around and trying to help me. They moved me a little and I felt a terrible pain, looked down and realized part of the frame of the car had broken and was poking through my abdomen. I spent a moment contemplating that a short length of time in agonizing pain separated me from death. Then I woke up.

Astronaut Scott Kelly Describes One Year In Space -- And Its After Effects (brisbanetimes.com.au)
53-year-old astronaut Scott Kelly shared a dramatic excerpt from his new book Endurance: A Year in Space, A Lifetime of Discovery in the Brisbane Times, describing his first 48 hours back on earth and what he'd learned on the mission: I push back from the table and struggle to stand up, feeling like a very old man getting out of a recliner... I make it to my bedroom without incident and close the door behind me. Every part of my body hurts. All my joints and all of my muscles are protesting the crushing pressure of gravity. I'm also nauseated, though I haven't thrown up... When I'm finally ver...

Samsung's Newest Phones Read Your Fingerprints With Ultrasonic Sound Waves
The Galaxy S10's in-screen fingerprint scanner may look just like the one on the OnePlus 6T, but don't be fooled. Samsung's flagship Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus are the first phones to use Qualcomm's ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint technology, which uses sound waves to read your print.
Related to ultrasound in a doctor's office, this "3D Sonic Sensor" technology works by bouncing sound waves off your skin. It'll capture your details through water, lotion and grease, at night or in bright daylight. Qualcomm also claims ...
