The poor wish to be rich, the rich wish to be happy, the single wish to be married, and the married wish to be dead. |
Jimmy Fallon |
I wanted to be the next Dana Carvey. This was my ultimate goal. If I ever cut into a birthday cake and made a wish, I would wish to be on 'Saturday Night Live.' If I threw a coin into a fountain, I would wish to be on 'Saturday Night Live.' If I saw a shooting star, I would wish to be on 'Saturday Night Live.' |

I wish we'd never got divorced. He and I both wish we'd never got divorced, but we did. I wish I could go back and be the bride again, but I can't. |
William Arthur Ward |
The more generous we are, the more joyous we become. The more cooperative we are, the more valuable we become. The more enthusiastic we are, the more productive we become. The more serving we are, the more prosperous we become. |
Peter Abrahams |
For me, personally, life in South Africa had come to an end. I had been lucky in some of the whites I had met. Meeting them had made a straight 'all-blacks-are-good, all-whites-are-bad' attitude impossible. But I had reached a point where the gestures of even my friends among the whites were suspect, so I had to go or be forever lost. |

The epic poet collaborates with the spirit of his time in the composition of his work. That is, if he is successful; the time may refuse to work with him, but he may not refuse to work with his time. |
Anne Morrow Lindbergh |
Don't wish me happiness - I don't expect to be happy it's gotten beyond that, somehow. Wish me courage and strength and a sense of humor - I will need them all. |
Carson Daly |
You know, I'm cursed with morals. I was raised a certain way. I wish I wasn't. I wish I was raised by wolves. |
Chris Abani |
The Igbo used to say that they built their own gods. They would come together as a community, and they would express a wish. And their wish would then be brought to a priest, who would find a ritual object, and the appropriate sacrifices would be made, and the shrine would be built for the god. |

I know this is silly, it's shallow, it's bad, I wish I wasn't this way-but if I meet a girl with no teeth, I just don't want to date her. It's creepy of me, I wish I was a bigger person, but that's my real turn-off. |

so me and my coworker had somewhat of a heart to heart. except they still think that they were just 'taking a break' when they were interrupting me and the other programmer who were actually working on something. they proceeded to tell me that they always used to just talk all the time at work and that i never take breaks from work. also they told me that she had discussed a specific interaction of ours with "someone else" (the girl she was iming in the other room for sure) and so her manipulative-ness sprung into action to get one of the other co workers on her side im sure. gotta spread the word that im the bad guy and that she is flawless. ok.. doesnt admit that she fucked me over the other day by lying. and still thinks she has every right to ask me all the time what im doing because she 'wants to learn programming stuff eventually'. UM YA im billing my work to the client im working for. not chit chatting with another department simultaneously billing a different client. I reall...

When I've been high for weeks at a time I start struggling with freestyling and annunciation but even when I stop getting high at the beginning of my days and continue smoking in large quantities at night, my mind still functions well. Obviously you will get lost if you are always high unless you are very firmly planted but for someone like me, regardless of how strong my values are, I am involved in a few too many different interests and weed definitely gets me stuck in between these loves. Between music, marketing, theosophy, and just chillin, I got a lot on my plate and remaining grounded is important. There is a place for everything, or to quote myself, "theres a time to work and a time to blow that purple"

I want more cookies, but I really don't want more cookies. My ratio of real food to cookies an ice cream is embarrassingly low if you look at my last 24 hours. Also, I skipped class for the first time this semester to work on 545, and I feel kind of bad about it. Not because I didn't have a good enough reason, but because I believe it's important to be present in class, and I wish I had budgeted my time better so I could have gone to lecture.

I fell asleep typing at work one day a long time ago and I woke up immediately but I looked at my screen and it said "I hope you can catch what you fish".

Turn up for work. Discipline allows creative freedom. No discipline equals no freedom. Never stop when you are stuck. You may not be able to solve the problem, but turn aside and write something else. Do not stop altogether. Love what you do. Be honest with yourself. If you are no good, accept it. If the work you are doing is no good, accept it. Don’t hold on to poor work. If it was bad when it went in the drawer it will be just as bad when it comes out. ...

I was recently thinking about aging. It's been my opinion for a while that we should just accept that we are going to grow old and die and that we have to get over it. I have now heard the argument, however, that the things that happen to us while we age are not unlike the things that happen to us when we get diseases and die. They went on to say that we should treat them the same and we should work on curing aging. This isn't to say that we should live forever, but that the flaws in the mechanisms that replicate our cells could be fixed or assisted and that we could live for a much longer time. I think it's interesting to think about and I agree that it is worth pursuing. Imagine if the life expectancy doubled. What great things could people accomplish if they had more time?
