Leonardo da Vinci |
Shadow is the obstruction of light. Shadows appear to me to be of supreme importance in perspective, because, without them opaque and solid bodies will be ill defined; that which is contained within their outlines and their boundaries themselves will be ill-understood unless they are shown against a background of a different tone from themselves. |

As long as I focus on what I feel and don't worry about where I'm going, it works out. Having no expectations but being open to everything is what makes wonderful things happen. If I don't worry, there's no obstruction and life flows easily. It sounds impractical, but 'Expect nothing; be open to everything' is really all it is. |
Wayne Dyer |
It makes no sense to worry about things you have no control over because there's nothing you can do about them, and why worry about things you do control? The activity of worrying keeps you immobilized. |
Jeanne Calment |
Not having children is one less worry. Children are a worry! |
Jeff Abbott |
It's not at all uncommon for a writer to get a ton of publicity for one book and then not get as much for the next one. I don't worry about that because I try to worry about the one single part of the job I can control: the writing of the book. If I do that well, I feel, good tidings generally will follow and readers will stick with me. |
Paula Garces |
When I'm hired just to be an actress, I don't have to worry about anything else but showing up on set, making sure I know my lines and making sure I know what I'm bringing to the character. When I'm a creator and executive producer, I have to worry about the whole thing. |
Ron Paul |
I like Mitt Romney as a person. I think he's a dignified person. But I have no common ground on economics. He doesn't worry about the Federal Reserve. He doesn't worry about foreign policy. He doesn't talk about civil liberties, so I would have a hard time to expect him to ever invite me to campaign with him. |
W. C. Fields |
I never worry about being driven to drink; I just worry about being driven home. |
Bill Cosby |
Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it. |
Charles Dickens |
It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. |

it's about the fish so the story starts off with the bee saying something stupid to the turtle and then when the turtle makes it obvious that it was stupid... i forgot what he said the bee says "i feel so dumb. i can't believe i said that" and the turtle says "huh. there's nothing to worry about. i got your credit card. nothing you gotta worry about. not doing anything fishy"

Irony. The term people love to use... incorrectly. On TV, in literature, between friends ? people misapply and misuse the word a million times a day. Even the pop anthem dedicated to the trope gets it wrong (or does it?). But you oughta know all this by now.
The fight over what is "ironic" and what isn't can be traced all the way back to Biblical times when Eve said to Adam, "The irony is that I don't even like apples." Adam took exception, and thus began the greatest of language debates.
More recently, this debate took hold of our entire office, pitting friend against friend, coworker aga...

Stephen King’s 20 Rules for Writers
1. First write for yourself, and then worry about the audience. “When you write a story, you’re telling yourself the story. When you rewrite, your main job is taking out all the things that are not the story."
2. Don’t use passive voice. “Timid writers like passive verbs for the same reason that timid lovers like passive partners. The passive voice is safe.”

I don't get it. So you don't believe it? I think it's good that you don't believe this. I don't think you are destroying yourself. I think you're just looking at things a different way.

I had a dream that Charlsey and I were on the moon and we were packing the space ship so we could go home and the moon looked just like Ben's house and there was plenty of oxygen. We were carrying very large equipment because of the low gravity and our space ship looked like a giant sphere with wrapping staircases around it. We were getting inside and I began to worry about reentering the Earth's orbit.

If we do nothing to reduce our carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, by the end of this century the Earth will be as hot as it was 50 million years ago in the early Eocene, according to a new study out today in the journal Nature Communications. This period -- roughly 15 million years after dinosaurs went extinct and 49.8 million years before modern humans appeared on the scene -- was 16F to 25F warmer than the modern norm. [...] During the Eocene, it took more atmospheric CO2 to influence temperatures than it does today. In fact, if we don't change our behavior, 2100 will be as hot as the Eocene with much less atmospheric CO2 than was present at the time. A hotter sun means we get more bang for our CO2 buck. "Climate change denialists often mention that CO2 was high in the past, that it was warm in the past, so this means there's nothing to worry about," said lead study author Gavin Foster, a researcher in isotope geochemistry and paleoceanography at the United Kingdom's University of Sout...
