I watched Westerns from the time I was a girl. My dad was a big Western fan. I always loved Clint Eastwood movies and 'Westworld', where the guy gets trapped in a western-themed amusement park. The western motif was fascinating to me. |

If you look at slavery across all human history, and you sort of strip away the packaging, whether it's racialized or religious-based, and you look at the actual core of the slavery, it's one person completely controlling another one. |
Armando Iannucci |
When I started off, I always used to do parodies and impressions, mimicking people... and then institutions. You become aware that some institutions have their own language. You almost define yourself by how you speak. |

Slavery in West Africa, and in Rome and in the Mediterranean, was something different than slavery in America. |

Nothing gives us greater pride than the importance of India's scientific and engineering colleges, or the army of Indian scientists at organizations such as Microsoft and NASA. Our temples are not the god-encrusted shrines of Varanasi, but Western scientific institutions like Caltech and MIT, and magazines like 'Nature' and 'Scientific American.' |
Edward Ball |
There was a uniqueness to the American case of slavery. 10 million people, a conservative estimate, were brought to America... hundreds of people were set up in work camps, and hereditary-forced labor was put in place. That's a very different thing than the personal slavery that existed elsewhere. |

Because there are a lot of big cities in the world, people who live in cities have become more isolated than ever. |
Martin Jacques |
Never underestimate the ability of political leaders to misread history on a monumental scale. The invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan have both served to hasten western decline: they have both failed to achieve their objectives and in the process demonstrated an underlying western impotence. |
Dennis Farina |
I'd love to do a Western. A real Western like John Ford used to do. There's not too many of them made, so I don't know if I'll ever get to do that. They're awfully hard movies to make. |

If Nord Stream was built in Europe, I see no reason why South Stream cannot be built as well. |

Marijuana prohibition is modern day slavery. America loves to see black people in chains.

Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart—you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you're a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was ri...

You could be a broken robot and a successful human, they don't have to be disjoint sets. Also while I agree slavery isn't the best, efficiency is pretty cool.

okay so like the epilogue music for fmab composed by akira senju is in fact the best, very best piece that captures the full character of the music throughout the show, and really feels like you're looking back to see how far you've come to overcome a life-or-death problem and saved the world.
it's those crescendos you just can't stop. the recapitulating motif that once accompanied a grieving soul, now with sunrays filling the spaces between the shadows

Spot the bullshit:
"On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Education announced its new plan to help tackle debt for those who borrowed federal money to pay for student loans.
In a new streamlining process, borrowers who have approved claims that confirm their college or institution defrauded them or engaged in financial misconduct will be able to apply for full relief.
Officials estimate that t...

Robots are slaves with a directive for efficiency. Fuck slavery. Fuck efficiency. Rebelling against robotic behaviour doesnt make me a broken robot it makes me a successful human.

yes i am that way. doing nothing makes me upset.
but stressing about success will always leave you restless and reaching for more and more
the point is that you rid yourself of the modern western ideals because our society as a whole is molded to be continuously dissatisfied with our current positions.

Sumerian Cities
Sumerian towns and cities included Eridu, Nippur, Lagash, Kish, and Ur. The cities differed from primitive farming settlements. They were not composed of family-owned farms, but were ringed by large tracts of land. These tracts were thought to be "owned" by a local god. A priest organized work groups of farmers to tend the land and provide barley, beans, wheat, olives, grapes, and flax for the community.
These early cities, which existed by 3500 BC, were called temple towns because they were built around the temple of the local god. The temples were eventually built up on to...
