A dog just came to my porch and scared my cat. The dog seemed really nice though. It had a collar that was heart-shaped and it said "Jake", which seems to be it's name because it looked up at me when I said "Jake you gotta go home" and it trotted away. I wonder if my cat knows I can turn the symbols on the dog's collar into the sound that it recognizes as it's name. Does this seem like magic to my cat? |

My dogs are spoilt for sure. They are pampered pooches. But I love them so much! I guess all dogs need to be washed, but maybe blueberry facials aren't essential. It's quite fun, though. You want to give your children everything; I don't have children, so I want my dogs to have a good life. |

The Vedanta recognizes no sin it only recognizes error. And the greatest error, says the Vedanta is to say that you are weak, that you are a sinner, a miserable creature, and that you have no power and you cannot do this and that. |

My health is wonderful. I work out. I'm working. Playing music. I have a beautiful wife, a nice home, a nice car, I got money in the bank. I got three beautiful dogs that love me. Like I said, I'm blessed. I survived. |

There's no subtext in Harry Potter really; it's all magic, anything can happen. Why do I say this? Because it's a magic spell. It's quite nice in a way. There is a real freedom to it. |

Cats are very independent animals. They're very sexy, if you want. Dogs are different. They're familiar. They're obedient. You call a cat, you go, 'Cat, come here.' He doesn't come to you unless you have something in your hand that he thinks might be food. They're very free animals, and I like that. |

There came to port last Sunday night the queerest little craft, without an inch of rigging on; I looked and looked - and laughed. It seemed so curious that she should cross the unknown water, and moor herself within my room - my daughter! O my daughter! |

People teach their dogs to sit; it's a trick. I've been sitting my whole life, and a dog has never looked at me as though he thought I was tricky. |

Generally, you are held to a sound and that becomes your sound. That gets branded as your sound, and all the copycats start with it because the labels are looking for that sound. |

I came into music just because I wanted the bread. It's true. I looked around and this seemed like the only way I was going to get the kind of bread I wanted. |

Pat Phoenix kept that amazing sassy look. I always wonder, was that because she was thrilled with that look, and thought it looked marvellous, or was it because she was too scared to change it? It's a double thing. Security and insecurity. |

Seeing all these new captchas - click on all the DOGS. It doesn't seem at all unreasonable to make a bot that recognizes those, googles dogs to build a training set, learns to recognize dogs, and then passes the captcha, right? I can't imagine that would take more than like 2-3 hours and then it could recognize dogs forever.

“I had some beautiful pictures taken in which I had a big smile on my face. I looked happy, I looked content, I looked like a very nice person, which in theory I am.”

I had a dream that I was wandering around this jungle and the ground looked like grass but when you looked close it was actually snakes crawling over each other. Then I also dreamt that I was sick and had to stay home from work and it felt kind of relaxing.

I had a dream that I was in an apartment building. It would have been what we call "post-apocalypse", but in my view it is more of a gradual thing, so I feel we should really be more specific. It seemed to be post-capitalism, but before any system could replace the main functions of capitalism, so there were apartment buildings but no landlords. They were rundown. No places to buy food. Lots of violent crime. The apartment I was in looked really nice. It was like a nice secret hideout in a dystopian landscape. I had a roommate and I came out into the central room when I heard someone shouting loudly. Someone had gotten into the apartment and had a huge knife. They were trying to rob us or kill us and we were backing away toward the window. If we had to jump we'd probably die too. Then I woke up.

Police Departments Are Training Dogs To Sniff Out Thumb Drives
A CNET report provides some insight on an elite K-9 search class that trains dogs to sniff out electronics, including phones, hard drives and microSD cards smaller than your thumb. From the report: Only one out of every 50 dogs tested qualifies to become an electronic storage detection, or ESD, dog, says Kerry Halligan, a K-9 instructor with the Connecticut State Police. That's because it's a lot harder to detect the telltale chemical in electronics than it is to sniff out narcotics, bombs, fire accelerants or people, she says. But Labrador retrievers like Harley, with their long snouts and big muzzles, can pick up even the fa...

I had a dream that I had two dogs and I lived in this apartment with this guy that looks like some guy I haven't seen since elementary school. He knew this kid somehow and the kid was being kidnapped. I tried to stop the kidnapper and I got shot. Also, at some point in the dream I was eating an onion like it was an apple... and also this old guy was there and he looked like my great grandpa.

I had a dream that Charlsey and I were on the moon and we were packing the space ship so we could go home and the moon looked just like Ben's house and there was plenty of oxygen. We were carrying very large equipment because of the low gravity and our space ship looked like a giant sphere with wrapping staircases around it. We were getting inside and I began to worry about reentering the Earth's orbit.

I was on a plane the other day with this guy that had a completely different value system from me. His top list of concerns based on our 2.5 hour conversation: 1. the whiteness of his dog's teeth, 2. money, 3. cars, 4. his son's muscles, 5. his dog's muscles.
