51st Known Mersenne Prime Number Found (mersenne.org)
The Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS) has discovered the largest known prime number, 2^82,589,933-1, having 24,862,048 digits. A computer volunteered by Patrick Laroche from Ocala, Florida made the find on December 7, 2018.
GIMPS has been on amazing lucky streak, finding triple the expected number of new Mersenne primes -- a dozen in the last fifteen years.

When I was in middle school I thought it was weird that people had favorite colors and lucky numbers so I decided that I'd have a lucky color and a favorite number. My favorite number was 17.5 and my lucky color was orange.

A dog just came to my porch and scared my cat. The dog seemed really nice though. It had a collar that was heart-shaped and it said "Jake", which seems to be it's name because it looked up at me when I said "Jake you gotta go home" and it trotted away. I wonder if my cat knows I can turn the symbols on the dog's collar into the sound that it recognizes as it's name. Does this seem like magic to my cat?

Customer at subway "wants to speak to the manager"
I worked at a subway that didn't have any authority/managers, just a couple minimum wage base level workers. I don't remember what this particular customer was mad about but she was arguing with me and didn't like the answer I gave her. She asked to speak to the manager, and there not being a manager I decided to promote myself on the spot and replied with "manager speaking, how can I help you." This did not make her very happy because she realized she was not going to get a different answer and asked for a phone number to call. The owner has specifically told us never to give his cell number to customers so i gave her the store number. She gives me a shit eating grin thinking about how much trouble she's about to get me in when the phon...
