I'm just imagining what will happen when that gets hacked. |

I have relentlessly beat the drum for Google's 'two-step' authentication systems for Gmail and other services, which radically reduce the likelihood that your account can be hacked from afar. |

Man is an imagining being. |

Do not test out your mind on the grounds that you are examining what seductive and impure thoughts look like, imagining that, as you do this, you will not be overcome by them. Even the wise have in this way been thrown into confusion and become infatuated. |
Willem Dafoe |
In my experience, sometimes a movie just hits at the wrong time, gets the wrong press, or gets the wrong representation, and it gets misunderstood. |
Jonathan Jackson |
As I get older, I plan less, and I strategize less about my career and about things because you realize things happen as they're supposed to happen and the way they're supposed to happen. |
Michael Jordan |
Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen. |
Richard M. Daley |
I'm the one who gets called up about a problem. I'm the one who gets called up about the street lighting and the abandoned car. I'm the one who gets blamed if the police don't arrive. I'm the one they blame if a city truck is broken down. |
Joichi Ito |
I just believe that the cost of marketing is going to increase and the cost of delivery is going to decrease as the Net gets stronger and mass media gets weaker. |
Wanda Jackson |
It seems like the good things that have happened in my career are things that you don't try to plan and push, and make it happen, it just seems to happen. |

Hacked Water Heaters Could Trigger Mass Blackouts Someday
At the Usenix Security conference this week, a group of Princeton University security researchers will present a study that considers a little-examined question in power grid cybersecurity: What if hackers attacked not the supply side of the power grid, but the demand side? From a report: In a series of simulations, the researchers imagined what might happen if hackers controlled a botnet composed of thousands of silently hacked consumer internet of things devices, particularly power-hungry ones like air conditioners, water heaters, and space heaters. Then they ran a series of software simulations to see how many of those devices a...

Another thing to keep in mind is that inner city school shootings happen every year that you never hear about. Ghetto people acting gangsta is old news and isnt exciting enough for the media to mention even if it does happen in a classroom. Only the terorist in suburbia angle is ripe for celebrity.

I was recently thinking about aging. It's been my opinion for a while that we should just accept that we are going to grow old and die and that we have to get over it. I have now heard the argument, however, that the things that happen to us while we age are not unlike the things that happen to us when we get diseases and die. They went on to say that we should treat them the same and we should work on curing aging. This isn't to say that we should live forever, but that the flaws in the mechanisms that replicate our cells could be fixed or assisted and that we could live for a much longer time. I think it's interesting to think about and I agree that it is worth pursuing. Imagine if the life expectancy doubled. What great things could people accomplish if they had more time?

want: to be able to write
I jam my journal in my bag and stomped out to the diag. Every time I'm in that library, I find myself wrestling with a stupid paragraph and it is always about my literal surroundings. I've written...10 stories about flicking on the desk lamp, peering at the textbooks of the faceless people, and imagining what it's like to be studying their physics textbook...in the library...under the desk lamp. Oh ya, and there's books! But I'm off to the coffee shop I usually avoid because of familiar faces I have no interest in, but maybe I can find something remarkable about today.

I would like for people to be able to eat toast while watching a text improv show. Would you like to participate in helping that happen?
