The Democratic Party is the party that opened its arms. We opened them to every nationality, every creed. We opened them to the immigrants. The Democratic Party is the party of the people. |

For me, for the type of addict I am, when I start getting those swirly thoughts and stuff, and they talk about slippery places, slippery people and slippery things, you know, I need to - I needed to take my cell phone and eliminate all the phone numbers, change the phone numbers so no one I knew before could call me or reach me. |

We found a way to make things look great to the human eye through the window of a graphical web browser without worrying about what everything looked like under the hood. |
Mike Davidson |
For most of the '90s and the first part of this decade, content providers who wanted to publish online only needed to worry about the graphical web browser. |

If I was designing a web site for elementary school children, I might have a much higher percentage of older computers with outdated browsers since keeping up with browser and hardware technology has not traditionally been a strong point of most elementary schools. |

When she was in United States, we maintained contact, we talked to each other on the phone, almost every night. And there was one occasion I tried to fix this video conferencing but somehow it did not come out very well enough so better to talk on the phone. |

There is a generation of skimmers. It's not that they don't want to read in-depth content, but they want to evaluate what the content is before they commit time. Especially on a mobile phone - you don't have the phone, or cellular data, or screen size to be reading full-length content. |

When I'm out and about, I'll text or email myself from my phone. A smart phone is a great tool for a writer. |
Andy Warhol |
Once you 'got' Pop, you could never see a sign again the same way again. And once you thought Pop, you could never see America the same way again. |
John Jakes |
The pain comes from knowing that we have never been safe, and therefore will never be safe again. It comes from knowing we can never be so ignorant again. It comes from knowing we can never be children again. Losing innocence. Remembering heaven. That was the essence of hell. |

Having trouble using your google play credit out of the country? Here's what I heard works: 1. Download Android Studio and create a virtual phone in the AVD manager 2. Connect to VPN in country where google thinks the credit belongs 3. Start up the phone and connect your google account
For some reason it doesn't seem to work from a real phone even with a VPN...

One time I was walking down the sidewalk in Okemos and I saw an iPhone in the grass so I picked it up and it rang. I answered it and told the people that I had their phone and where I found it. They said they were 45 minutes away but they'd drive and come get it from me. I gave them the address of an abandoned house and told them to meet me there. This middle aged married couple showed up and gave me $20 dollars for the phone and thanked me and they acted so confused about how their phone ended up in Okemos. It sounded like they'd never even been there. Then I walked home.

It's about a domain I just remembered I've been renewing for 4 years (whoops), and a simple project I abandoned - of a more private nature - that I thought you might be interested in. Could be some easy money (small scale stuff).

One of the best emails I have received (edited for brevity) about a job that I configured wrong on a supercomputer:
"Your job was cancelled as you were asking for resources not available ... [you] were requesting 20 nodes with 4 processors each, and 80gb per processor. While there are a few large memory nodes ... there are not enough to fulfill this request. None of the other, more available node types have 240gb/node available as RAM so your job was never able to run ... so I cancelled your job. Please reconsider your requirements ... Let us know if you have any questions."
Yeah... thats...

People write here about microplastics in the sea. I'll write about how I forgot my phone in the lost and found room. It all started a night before when I forgot my laptop charger in the law library. I was working with other students for Complexity homework. I was also stressed because of the AIDA project and this made me forget things and be very tired. I didn't even realize I forgot my charger until the end of the next day when my battery was low. The deadline for AIDA had just been pushed back again so I didn't need my laptop that night. Next morning I went to the law library, at the lost and found room to search for my charger. My excitement when I found it was so great that I didn't realize I left my phone on the desk there. Luckily, immediately after leaving the room I could sense that something was wrong. I felt incomplete without my phone. So, very embarrassed I turned back and faced the person in the room. She was amazed at how I left my phone in there after just recovering an...

Customer at subway "wants to speak to the manager"
I worked at a subway that didn't have any authority/managers, just a couple minimum wage base level workers. I don't remember what this particular customer was mad about but she was arguing with me and didn't like the answer I gave her. She asked to speak to the manager, and there not being a manager I decided to promote myself on the spot and replied with "manager speaking, how can I help you." This did not make her very happy because she realized she was not going to get a different answer and asked for a phone number to call. The owner has specifically told us never to give his cell number to customers so i gave her the store number. She gives me a shit eating grin thinking about how much trouble she's about to get me in when the phon...
