It would be so weird to be a housepet. The light literally follows your owners (if they're responsible with electricity at least). |

Jose Canseco |
Owners, the way they blackballed me from baseball, the way they used me, in a sense, and then the way they wanted to send a signal to the other players, saying, you know, we're going to get Jose Canseco out of the game. This is a cue or a message for you other guys to stop using steroids because the owners lost total control of the steroid use. |
Ron Paul |
How did we win the election in the year 2000? We talked about a humble foreign policy: No nation-building; don't police the world. That's conservative, it's Republican, it's pro-American - it follows the founding fathers. And, besides, it follows the Constitution. |
Jessa Gamble |
Life evolved under conditions of light and darkness, light and then darkness. And so plants and animals developed their own internal clocks so that they would be ready for these changes in light. These are chemical clocks, and they're found in every known being that has two or more cells and in some that only have one cell. |
Antoine de Saint-Exupery |
You are responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. You are responsible for your rose. |
George Eastman |
Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography. |
Jefferson Han |
In fiber optics, the cable is a light pipe or waveguide, into which you inject light. If a finger presses on the pipe, it disrupts that light within the waveguide. |
Arthur Eddington |
Oh leave the Wise our measures to collate. One thing at least is certain, light has weight. One thing is certain and the rest debate. Light rays, when near the Sun, do not go straight. |
Debby Ryan |
Any mature, responsible adult doesn't run around stomping their feet and screaming 'I'm a mature, responsible, adult.' |
Robert A. Heinlein |
I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. |
Walter Anderson |
I am responsible. Although I may not be able to prevent the worst from happening, I am responsible for my attitude toward the inevitable misfortunes that darken life. |

Experimental Device Generates Electricity From the Coldness of the Universe (phys.org)
An international team of scientists has demonstrated for the first time that it is possible to generate a measurable amount of electricity in a diode directly from the coldness of the universe. The infrared semiconductor device faces the sky and uses the temperature difference between Earth and space to produce the electricity. In contrast to leveraging incoming energy as a normal solar cell would, the negative illumination effect allows electrical energy to be harvested as heat leaves a surface. Today's technology, though, does not capture energy over these negative temperature differences as efficiently. By pointing their device toward space, whose temperature approaches mere degrees from absolute ze...

Alleged Owners of Mugshots.com Have Been Arrested For Extortion
The alleged owners of Mugshots.com have been charged and arrested. These four men Sahar Sarid, Kishore Vidya Bhavnanie, Thomas Keesee, and David Usdan only removed a person's mugshot from the site if this individual paid a "de-publishing" fee, according to the California Attorney General on Wednesday. That's apparently considered extortion. On top of that, they also face charges of money laundering, and identity theft.
If you read a lot of articles about crime, then you're probably already familiar with the site (which is stil...

Lene Vestergaard Hau (born November 13, 1959 in Vejle, Denmark) is a Danish physicist with a PhD from Aarhus University. In 1999, she led a Harvard University team who, by use of a Bose-Einstein condensate, succeeded in slowing a beam of light to about 17 metres per second, and, in 2001, was able to stop a beam completely.[1] Later work based on these experiments led to the transfer of light to matter, then from matter back into light,[2] a process with important implications for quantum encryption and quantum computing.

Do you ever go to the optometrist and wonder if they're doing a binary search over the lens angles? Cause if they're not we gotta tell them we can get that down to log(n) time.

The Incredibly Stupid Plot To Hijack a Domain By Breaking Into Its Owner's House With A Gun
CNN tells the story of 24-year-old "social media influencer" Rossi Lorathio Adams II who'd wanted his domain to be the slogan of his social media sites (which at one point had over a million followers on Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter). Unfortunately, that domain was already owned by another man in Iowa -- but Adams came up with a solution:
In June 2017, Adams enlisted his cousin to break into the domain owner's home and force him to transfer it. The cousin drove to the domain owner's house and pro...

I had a dream I was in this weird two story house and the second floor had a hallway that went all the way around the outside. I saw some weird guy going into my basement. Some time elapsed and then there was blood everywhere and my cat was dead.

Oh yeah, I been there. My being pregnant/having an infant dreams are usually pretty disturbing and weird. I think I've had maybe one nice one that didn't wake me up like a nightmare but it was still weird.
