For better or worse, zoos are how most people come to know big or exotic animals. Few will ever see wild penguins sledding downhill to sea on their bellies, giant pandas holding bamboo lollipops in China or tree porcupines in the Canadian Rockies, balled up like giant pine cones. |

I'm a loser on Sunday. Yeah, I'm a couch potato. I get up and try and eat and then back on the couch. And watch anything. |

I have a 2-year-old son, and I know I'm dealing with a big, grand word when I can't point to the thing when I define it. Right? If he wants to know what a chair is, I can point to the chair. If he wants to know what religion is, I can't point to anything in particular. The same is true of the state. |

What is the purpose of the giant sequoia tree? The purpose of the giant sequoia tree is to provide shade for the tiny titmouse. |

I'm a huge dog nut - giant, giant. |

We continue to have nuclear weapons relied on as a weapon of choice. If that policy were to continue, we continue to have countries who are in a security bind, if you like, or perceive themselves to be in security bind to look for acquisition of nuclear weapons. |

You do the work and you want people to see it; but, um while I'm doing the work, the result doesn't matter at all to me. Ultimately, I don't, I don't care whether the film is - you know - some big giant box-office bonanza and I don't care if its a complete flop. To me, when a film gets made and it's actually finished it's a success. They're all a success in their own way. |

Every single thing that you learn really just gives you more comfort. It's something I counsel kids all the time: if someone is willing to teach you something for free, take them up on it. Do it. Every single time. All it does is make you more likely to be able to succeed. And it's kind of a nice way to go through life. |

If there's any message to my work, it is ultimately that it's OK to be different, that it's good to be different, that we should question ourselves before we pass judgment on someone who looks different, behaves different, talks different, is a different color. |

I've been an inveterate reader of literary magazines since I was a teenager. There are always discoveries. You're sitting in your easy chair, reading; you realize you've read a story or a group of poems four times, and you know, Yes, I want to go farther with this writer. |

I had a dream I was in the USA and I was driving around in a car with my friends and we were trying to figure out how to buy property on the river or lake or some body of water and I got out of the car to ask a group of people sitting on the lawn and I apologized for not speaking their language and then tried to ask them if they knew English and how they got property here but it was in the USA so that was a strange thing to apologize for and that was pretty much all that happened that I remember.

I like the idea of someone sitting in a chair and squeaking out the sentence "I need my medicine" and then a butler brings this guy a feather and uses it to tickle his nose.

I had a dream that I was climbing a giant tree and the tree was strange and scary and I think it was trying to kill me.

I did that for a month for about 2-3gs 6 years ago when the exchange rate sucked. If you go to those hostel websites and then just call the hostel it ends up being cheaper because those sites add in their fee. Also I met people that did couch surfing and had a great time. Also if turns out no other travelers are excited to meet an American. And everyone speaks English even if they pretend not to.

My resignation letter I haven't sent yet: llo Ryan,
I regret to inform you my leaving of the company. I am mentally drained to the point where I no longer feel productive here. I have arrived at the conclusion that I cannot work on computers this much in a routine schedule.
I would love to work something out in the future, I think we have done great work together, however I can no longer continue this job. Sitting for 8 hours, 5 days a week, is something I just cannot do, regardless of location. ...

When I've been high for weeks at a time I start struggling with freestyling and annunciation but even when I stop getting high at the beginning of my days and continue smoking in large quantities at night, my mind still functions well. Obviously you will get lost if you are always high unless you are very firmly planted but for someone like me, regardless of how strong my values are, I am involved in a few too many different interests and weed definitely gets me stuck in between these loves. Between music, marketing, theosophy, and just chillin, I got a lot on my plate and remaining grounded is important. There is a place for everything, or to quote myself, "theres a time to work and a time to blow that purple"

Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart—you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you're a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was ri...
