Congressman proposes ban on Trump hotels use by U.S. government
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives proposed legislation on Monday to bar the U.S. government from renting rooms at President Donald Trump's hotels for official business.
"Donald Trump should not be allowed to line his or his family’s pockets with taxpayer dollars,” Representative Don Beyer of Virginia said in a statement.
He said the amendments he was introducing to a spending bill were necessary because of the Republican president's "unprecedented failure to divest from his business, and the ongoing entanglement between the Trump Organization and the White House."
Republicans control the House and the Senate.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Last month, the attorneys general of Maryland and the District of Columbia filed a lawsuit alleging that government payments to Trump's businesses violated the U.S. Constitution. |

This has not been a legislative process worthy of the Senate. Members of the Judiciary Committee, as I just said, were implored to save their amendments for the floor. Then, when we got here, we were told no amendments could be accepted. |

If the U.S. Government was a company, the deficit would be $5 trillion because they would have to account by general accepted accounting principles. But actually they encourage government spending, reckless government spending, because the government can issue Treasury bills at extremely low interest rates. |

The worst thing any decorator can do is give a client the feeling that he's walking around somebody else's house; the rooms must belong to the owner, not to the decorator; and no rooms can have atmosphere unless they are used and lived in. |

The American people elected us here to cut spending so we can create an environment for jobs in America. The House has acted. We have demonstrated that we want to see spending, discretionary spending, brought down to levels of 2008. We've seen no counteraction. We have seen no position that has been expressed by the other side at all. |

Nelson Mandela did much more than advocate the practice of democracy in South Africa. Working with a constitutional assembly that drew on the ideas and input of regional representatives as well as ordinary citizens, the president worked to draft a constitution that is now universally regarded as the most progressive of any in the world - bar none. |

What the president announced yesterday, is that somehow magically, if we just continue to prime the pump of taxpayer dollars, we're going to see magically an economic recovery. |

People don't realize that they're being played by the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, but more so by the Democratic Party because the Democratic Party does not want another party in there. |

There's a built-in Trump exemption in Twitter's new abuse policy that will allow the president to keep tweeting
Twitter started enforcing new abuse policies Monday by suspending accounts that violate the terms. The policies do not apply to government accounts. That means even though Trump has technically violated Twitter's abuse policies in the past, he is exempt from the new rules.
Even though...

David Kris, assistant attorney general for national security from 2009 to 2011, has responded to the recent accusations made by president Donald Trump. On Saturday, Trump accused former president Obama of orchestrating a "Nixon/Watergate" plot to tap the phones at his Trump Tower headquarters in the run-up to last fall's election. He writes in an opinion piece for The Washington Post: First, the U.S. government needs probable cause, signatures from government officials and advance approval from a federal court before engaging in wiretapping in the United States. There are some narrow exceptions, for things such as short-term emergencies, which are then reviewed by a judge promptly after the fact. This is not something that the president simply orders. Under the law governing foreign intelligence wiretaps, the government has to show probable cause that a "facility" is being used or about...

Government Shutdown: TLS Certificates Not Renewed, Many Websites Are Down
More than 80 TLS certificates used by US government websites have expired so far without being renewed, leaving some websites inaccessible to the public. From a report: NASA, the US Department of Justice, and the Court of Appeals are just some of the US government agencies currently impacted, according to Netcraft. The blame falls on the current US federal government shutdown caused by US President Donald Trump's refusal to sign any 2019 government budget bill that doesn't contain funding for a Mexico border wall he promised during his election campaign. This has resulted in hundreds of thousands of government worke...

I had a dream that instead of Donald Trump being elected, it was a group of clowns. They all looked really spooky and different and they were evil and had some sinister plan.

China, Russia Are Listening To Trump's Phone Calls, Says NYT Report
According to The New York Times, the Chinese are regularly listening to Donald Trump's cellphone calls. While he has two NSA-hardened iPhones, and a secure landline, he insists on using a consumer-grade iPhone -- even while knowing he's being eavesdropped upon -- because it has his contact list on it.
"White House officials say they can only hope he refrains from discussing classified information when he is on them," report...

US Voting Server At Heart of Russian Hack Probe Mysteriously Wiped
A computer at the center of a lawsuit digging into Russian interference in the U.S. presidential election has been wiped. "The server in question is based in Georgia -- a state that narrowly backed Donald Trump, giving him 16 electoral votes -- and stored the results of the state's vote-management system," reports The Register. "The deletion of its filesystem data makes analysis of whether the system was compromised impossible to ascertain." From the report: There is good reason to believe that the computer may have been tampered with: it is 15 years old, and could be harboring all sorts of exploitable software and hardwar...

I had a dream that Sherman hacked this site and tried to integrate it with his game. I also dreamt that I was on vacation and a bunch of people I knew were in nearby hotels. My parents were in one and they found out they were broke and I paid for the rest of their vacation.
