As we get older, we get better at choosing in ways that will make us happy. We do a better job at picking activities that make us happy, and at spending time with people who make us happy. We're also better at letting things go. |
Elle Fanning |
I make movies the same way other kids play tennis or go to piano lessons. I'm trying to get better at what I want to do, just like other kids are trying to get better at what they want to do. |
Geoffrey Canada |
People don't believe or understand that a community can lose hope. You can have a whole community where hopelessness is the norm, where folks don't have faith that things will get better because history and circumstances have proven over 30, 40, or 50 years that things don't get better. |
Bob Inglis |
For example, a breakthrough in better batteries could supplant hydrogen. Better solar cells could replace or win out in this race to the fuel of the future. Those, I see, as the three big competitors: hydrogen, solar cells and then better batteries. |

I wanted to be a soccer player, and I became the best of the best, the number one, better than Maradona, better than Pele, and even better than Messi - but only at night, nighttime, during my dreams. When I wake up, I realized that I have wooden legs and that I'm doomed to be a writer. |

It is a medical fact that children can have a better chance in life with better looks, better health and more vigor if the teeth, nose, throat and mouth are taken proper care of at the crucial time of childhood. |
H. L. Mencken |
I believe that it is better to tell the truth than a lie. I believe it is better to be free than to be a slave. And I believe it is better to know than to be ignorant. |
John Cage |
It is better to make a piece of music than to perform one, better to perform one than to listen to one, better to listen to one than to misuse it as a means of distraction, entertainment, or acquisition of 'culture.' |
Michael Caine |
When you're a movie star and you're young, you are always playing someone who's a better fighter, a better lover, a better everything than you. |
Tyler Hamilton |
If you look at my career, I kind of got progressively better and better and better. I came closer to the top. |

Do you think that if you say enough things to a person that they can't hear or understand that when they hear any phenomenon that generates white noise, it'll just sound like you mumbling?

I have a paper deadline next Friday. I think I'm going to take the night off and then spend like 80 hours in the following week putting the paper together. Then it'll be Easter and I'll probably just come to Lansing for a couple days.

I had a dream that I was in a classroom and there was a school shooting. I think the classroom kind of turned into a hotel room because dreams are like that. Then this one kid was really scared and the shooter came in and was like "hey it'll be okay, lets play patty cake" and he started doing the patty cake thing and someone tackled him and took the gun away. Super weird. I guess I'm never going to stop dreaming about school shootings. #USA

We need to get a couple people together and go to the town square. Two of will be together. One will shout "Help! Is there a priest around! This woman is possessed!" and then other person will be on the other side of the square dressed as priest and will be like "Yes! I can help you!" "I heard your cry for help or whatever" and then we will speak some latin and do an exorcism and it'll be a good day. Holy water is good but it's better if we can get some smoke goin on. Hidden smoke machine or something. The incense waving maybe.

Samsung's Newest Phones Read Your Fingerprints With Ultrasonic Sound Waves
The Galaxy S10's in-screen fingerprint scanner may look just like the one on the OnePlus 6T, but don't be fooled. Samsung's flagship Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus are the first phones to use Qualcomm's ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint technology, which uses sound waves to read your print.
Related to ultrasound in a doctor's office, this "3D Sonic Sensor" technology works by bouncing sound waves off your skin. It'll capture your details through water, lotion and grease, at night or in bright daylight. Qualcomm also claims ...

Roberta sips her coffee as she slumps into the back of her chair and gazes through the window at the umbratic front yard. The sky dims and releases a sigh of a breeze wafting in the opening droplets of the rainfall’s exposition. More drops join in accelerating toward the earth, casting a breeze from their path. The plants shake off their winter shivers and the grass sways to catch a drop on each angle of every blade. It’s a good day to bring the plants outside. Roberta wheels her chair to the kitchen making her way to the makeshift greenhouse; the kitchen sink and a lamp clamped atop the adjacent cupboard casting white on green tangles of vines and leaves between the sink and window sill. She plucks the aloe plant within reach from the edge of the sink, places it on her lap, and wheels t...
